On January 28, fans will get to know Simon Williams and his acting career. To add to that, he will meet Trevor Slattery. Are we going to see a two sides of the same coin situation here? The official plot synopsis as it goes:

“Aspiring Hollywood actor Simon Williams is struggling to get his career off the ground. During a chance meeting with Trevor Slattery, an actor whose biggest roles may be well behind him, Simon learns legendary director Von Kovak is remaking the superhero film “Wonder Man”. These two actors at opposite ends of their careers doggedly pursue life-changing roles in this film as audiences get a peek behind the curtain of the entertainment industry.”

Created by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) and Andrew Guest, this series continues the phase six of the MCU. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II plays Simon Williams/Wonder Man and Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery. Joining the duo are Arian Moayed, X Mayo, and Zlatko Burić.

What we know so far

Based on what is revealed on the poster and trailers, we know Hollywood is a major factor to the plot and setting. Simon Williams is an actor that is struggling to find his big break in the industry. Along they way, he meets Trevor Slattery.

Which we all know is the actor who portrayed the fake “Mandarin”. Right there we already see a connection between the two, a mentor-apprentice type at that.

With Simon being the newcomer and Trevor as the “veteran”. Additionally, the fiasco of Simon and Trevor trying to make a name for themselves in the industry. The Department of Damage control are on the hunt for Simon, labeling him an “extraordinary threat”.

Lastly, what makes this series unique is the meta of “superhero fatigue” as a plot device. The show is referencing the reality that we also face this type of fatigue, and we cannot help but chuckle at that.
