Wednesday season 2 returns with Part 1 ending in the main character being flung out of an asylum’s window by her ex-fling and continues with an action-packed Part 2 where some mysteries are solved, and even more are introduced.
Parts 1 and 2 of Wednesday season 2 have finally landed on Netflix, bringing the Addams family saga to a dramatic close. The latest episodes pick up from the shocking twists of season 1, unraveling long-held secrets and deepening the mysteries surrounding Nevermore Academy.
With new revelations about family ties, betrayals, and the true identity of the season’s villain, the finale delivers the gothic suspense and dark humor that fans have come to love. As Wednesday Addams confronts her greatest challenge yet, viewers are left to piece together the meaning of her choices.
Isaac’s history with the Addams Family
Wednesday season 2 gave fans more of what they wanted: the Addams family. It is revealed in the finale that this is due to their connection with the season’s villain, Isaac. Initially Pugsley’s pet zombie, he turns out to have been Gomez’ best friend back when they were students in Nevermore. He was also the reason why Gomez lost his outcast abilities in his efforts to help his sister Francoise, Tyler’s mother, to relieve her of her hyde gene.
In the flashback, Morticia stops him in his tracks and cuts off his hand. She saves Gomez and in the midst of the rubble appears “Thing.”

The thing about …Thing.
In Wednesday season 2, we witness Thing’s journey to find out whose body it once belonged to. It drinks as a way to self-soothe and even goes to meetings with other appendages in which they share their grievances about “not feeling whole.” Thing belonged to Isaac, much to everyone’s surprise.
There’s poetry in Thing belonging to the person who wants to wreak havoc on the Addams’, the same family he has served. Even more when Thing is eventually sewed back into Isaac’s arms and ultimately, removing itself yet again. Taking it a step further, Thing is the one to put an end to Isaac when it removes his clockwork heart.
Does Wednesday get her powers back?
The same events that occurred in the flashback are mirrored in the last episode where Wednesday is now in place of Morticia, and Pugsley is in place of Gomez. Where Isaac was once trying to rid Francoise of her outcast abilities, now lies Tyler. Is this generational trauma playing out or is it all just a coincidence?
Wednesday’s journey all season long has largely been about getting her psychic powers back. We find out through her spirit guide, beloved character Principal Weems, that the way to get it back is to heal her relationship with her mother. Another one is preventing Enid from dying as she saw in her premonition. She manages to alleviate that problem but the premonition changes. It is now a member of her family who will die.
Now when it comes to saving Pugsley, Wednesday actually says he should be sacrificed, re: her premonition. But in order to find her brother, she must team up with her mom and her grandmama to merge their psychic powers. It is the power she got from her mother’s ancestry that ultimately saves her brother. It is her brother who she claims she doesn’t care about that she risks her life for.
In this epic team-up, not only does Wednesday reconcile her relationship with her mother, but they also save Pugsley.

What happens to Tyler and Enid?
Wednesday frees Tyler before freeing her brother. But is Tyler really free?
Tyler seeks independence after being at the behest of his master, and then his mother. Isadora Capri, Wednesday Season 2’s latest addition, offers him the choice to join a pack of outcasts instead.
Similarly, Isadora promised Enid that she wouldn’t “wolf out” if she followed her precautions. She is the same person who told Enid she’s an alpha! It seems Isadora should be trusted by Enid for being a werewolf herself. Having had a tumultuous past from falling in love with a hyde, it seems Tyler should join her pack.
Enid transforms under a full moon in order to save Wednesday after being buried alive by Isaac, unable to return to her human form. Tyler once again finds himself potentially under the control of someone else.
In the penultimate episode, Enid made Wednesday promise that if this ever happened, she would track her. At the end of the finale, this is exactly what Wednesday decides to do. There is an implication that this will be one of the major storylines of Season 3. Anyone else can’t wait to see more of this duo?
Aunt Ophelia is alive?
Ever the fleeting character, we see Uncle Fester pick up Wednesday from Nevermore. In her hand, her Aunt Ophelia’s journal that has been a point of contention for her and her mother all season long. Not only does our monochromatic hero finally have it, but she also gets her psychic powers back, phew! As she’s flipping through the pages, she connects with her dear aunt through their shared powers, and it is here we discover she’s alive.
Locked up in her Grandmama’s basement, “Wednesday Must Die” sprawled across one side of her room. Is this a foreshadowing that Wednesday is the member of the Addams family that will ultimately die from her premonition? Has the curse been transferred to her for rescuing Pugsley? Or is it because Wednesday and her Aunt Ophelia are both ravens, therefore inevitably suffering the same fate? It seems we’ll have the answers to all these questions in season 3.
Wednesday season 2 Part 1 premiered on August 6, 2025 followed by Part 2 which aired the following month on September 3, 2025. Wednesday is renewed for a third season. There is no official release date yet. All episodes of Wednesday season 1 and Wednesday season 2 Parts 1 and 2 are now streaming on Netflix.
