After three melodramatic (and we loved it) seasons, The Summer I Turned Pretty has come to an end. The final season, which aired on July 16, 2025, introduced new characters, brought viewers to Paris, and finally answered the question we’ve had all series long: Which brother does Belly choose?
Since its premiere on June 17, 2022, The Summer I Turned Pretty has become a summer favorite. The love triangle, the house on the beach, the dead mom who looms over everyone—what’s not to love?
Before we get the answer to our initial question, the show takes us back to where it all started: Cousins. There, we see the storylines of Stephen, Taylor, Jeremiah, and Denise come to a close. At the same time, Conrad has landed in Paris, and he’s ready to lay it all out for Belly.
#Jelly shippers… hang tight.

Stephen and Taylor
Belly’s big brother and her best friend ending up together? I mean, it was written in the stars.
It’s a rough start for these two at the top of the season. Although they broke up at the end of Season 2 and Taylor is now in a relationship, they still find themselves waking up next to each other almost every night. Things come to a boiling point when Stephen confesses to Taylor that he wants her back while in the car. Taylor refuses, and in a way, because Stephen’s attention is on her, he gets into an accident.
The thought of losing Stephen makes Taylor realize that she does want to be with him. She’s persistent in this pursuit despite his reluctance after everything that happened, but they eventually find their way back to each other.

The fate of their relationship is up in the air for a brief moment after Taylor finds out Stephen has plans of moving to California through Denise and Jeremiah. Her crashing out was, needless to say, valid, because she didn’t know this was a dilemma at all. They make up at Cousins, where Taylor decides she’ll make the move with Stephen, and it’s fair to say it’s a happy ending for these two.
Denise …and Jeremiah?
Season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty introduced us to Stephen’s coworker, Denise. We meet her right after Stephen’s horrifying accident, where he nearly dies, and right after he tells Taylor it’s time they give up trying to make their relationship work.

Initially, Denise was an added layer to Stephen and Taylor’s complex relationship. The friendly, sort of flirty banter they had in the office tricked viewers into thinking Denise could be the one Stephen ends up with. They even share a kiss after Belly and Jeremiah’s rehearsal dinner! In a moment where their relationship could’ve gone to the next level, they both realize they’re better off as friends.
The following day, Denise and Jeremiah share a kiss during a playful moment in the kitchen. Not surprising, given they had developed a connection after Jeremiah crashed at her place while he was figuring things out. At the end, there’s a shot of the pair sneakily holding each other’s hand under the table.
It’s a beautiful way to close out Jeremiah’s story. He has had a rough go, from Belly canceling their wedding to his father cutting him off. He even makes peace with the fact that he and Belly weren’t meant to be, clearing the way for Conrad to tell her how he feels.
Which brother does Belly choose?
Season after season we witnessed #Bonrad and their quite frankly, tumultuous, relationship. They were, they weren’t, and after a chance encounter at Christmas, a marriage that never happened (to Conrad’s brother nevertheless), and literally another continent away, they finally are.

Conrad flies to Paris after receiving somewhat of a blessing from Jeremiah. He waits for Belly on her stoop, where she meets him with her controversial bob. They spend the night unpacking everything that has transpired between them. The conversation continues through Belly’s birthday party, to the scenic beauty that is the Seine, and ends in her bedroom, where the two share a tender moment.
Belly’s fear of realizing she might actually want Conrad in her life forever surfaces, which leads to a brief confrontation. After reconciling with the fact that she could have what she’s always wanted, she chases him all the way to the train he’s on, where the climax of the episode is closed with a confession and a kiss. We time jump a few years later, where we see Belly and Conrad at Cousins, driving to their now home. A full circle moment.

The summer Belly grew up
It’s a beautiful sentiment that it’s through losing herself that she eventually finds it. It even brings her Conrad.
Towards the end of the series, the show re-centers itself, with Belly leaving behind everything she’d known. She untethers herself from the things and people she naively identified with; Cousins, the Fisher brothers, and it is not only pivotal but essential that she actually chooses herself.
She takes the internship in Paris and stays despite it not working out; she sees and dates other people despite that not working out as well, all necessary for her to become closer to the real Belly.

Furthermore, it’s been confirmed that there will be a The Summer I Turned Pretty movie. In the meantime, all three seasons of the show are available for streaming on Amazon Prime.
