Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Episodes 2 and 3: “Shoot the Moon” and “The Scales & The Sword”
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 episodes 2 and 3 drop at the same time, and we are glad it did. Picking things up from the last episode, the task force continues to hunt Daredevil as he escapes. We got the answer that it was Bullseye that helped him. Meanwhile, Wilson Fisk doubles his effort, as he announces that Matt Murdock is a “hero” and needs to be found.
The execution of the scene from Vincent D’Onofrio is chef’s kiss as we see the hesitation and disgust on Fisk’s expression when he calls Matt a hero. Fortunately, he is successful with the plan as Matt’s face is plastered on a “Missing” poster all over the city.

Viva la résistance
As Matt and Karen continue to hide, they have help from longtime friend Josie and a number of police offers that are not in Fisk’s payroll. They inform that Cherry is fine, but must be cautious because of Fisk’s obsession of finding Matt and Karen.
The task force pinpoints on their location, almost apprehending Josie but Matt suits up as Daredevil and handles them quick. Meanwhile, Karen incapacitates a task force member. She convinces Matt that the member could be helpful.
Meanwhile, Kirsten Mcduffie, Matt’s partner at his new law firm is in charge of handling the legal battles at their firm right now. She represents Jack Duquesne, who is alleged to be the vigilante known as the “Swordsman”. From the start, this is a very difficult obstacle because of the “safe streets” act and the personal vendetta Kingpin has for Jack.
The conclusion of the trial is he is guilty. Amidst defeat, Kirsten encounters Daredevil, still not knowing it is Matt. She gives details of the Red hook port to Matt’s benefit.

Jack Duquesne: A Man of Swords
MCU fans may be familiar as he made his MCU debut from the Hawkeye series. Now he gets to shine in these 2 episodes. As mentioned, he is found guilty at the vigilante trials for his alleged actions as the vigilante known as “Swordsman”. Although suffering his dark fate, he held his head high, and says one of the most chilling quotes of the season so far:
“A farce. For the entertainment of the masses. Presented in all its ugly glory by the man whose hand holds the scale.”

Hopefully we see more of Jack as he maybe of help to the resistance. And of course, it’s always a delight to see Tony Dalton’s charm oozing through the screen. Such a welcome addition to the show.
Angela Del Toro: The Next White Tiger?
The viewers are re-introduced to Angela Del Toro. Who we know from last season, is the niece of the late Hector Ayala, the masked vigilante known as the “White Tiger”. We see her and her aunt since the death of Hector, and they only have each other now.
Since the declaration of Martial Law in the city, these are trying times indeed. The two discuss would it be different if Hector is not a vigilante. To Angela, regardless of what will happen, her uncle is a hero that stepped up.

As if the task force has not ruined their family enough, Angela’s aunt gets unfairly arrested for saving a kid from the task force. Powerless, she goes to Kirsten for help. She finds the amulet of her uncle that he used when we was White Tiger.
Red hook-ed/”You know what to do.”
Matt infiltrates the mysterious Red hook port thanks to Kirsten. He discovers that the people the task force have apprehend are prisoners here, including Jack. Matt with the help of Jack, breaks out the prisoners. A fight ensues, and we get the best action scene of the season so far.
Fans know that it would not be a Daredevil show without its one-shot/long take action scenes, and we got it here. Matt’s acrobatics mix with Jack’s fencing skills teaming up against the task force equals to an action scene worth repeating.
Outside of Red Hook, Karen urges to help as task force backups are on the way. But, she also unexpectedly has backup. Angela, now wearing her uncle’s amulet helps Karen breakout Matt, Jack, and other prisoners including Angela’s aunt. The escape is a success for the resistance.
But, that’s not the ending yet. Powell, one of the leaders of the task force informs Kingpin. Just when we thought the breakout will anger Fisk, no, he is not. He commands Powell to blow-up the “Northern Star” which leads to it sinking fully, with civilians caught in the blast.Unfortunately, this stresses Matt and Karen. Shocked at what they had just witnessed.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Episodes 2 and 3 Thoughts
Thank you Marvel for releasing these bangers of episodes. We see the stakes go higher and higher. Just as we thought the heroes are getting the upper hand, Fisk is just another step in front of them, which makes us anxious and excited for the next week’s episode.
The Red Hook fight scene is a top contender for favorite part of the season. Some reviews say that the first 3 episodes are “slow” but it gets better after that. So if this batch of episodes is considered “slow”, then we are in for a treat for the upcoming episodes then. Daredevil: Born Again season 2 episodes 2 and 3 are some of the better content the MCU offers so far.
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 episodes 2 and 3 are now available to stream on Disney+.
