Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Episode 6: “Requiem”
We see Wilson silently watching Vanessa’s lifeless body, still could not process that the love of his life is gone. The doctor offers his condolences; Wilson looks like he acknowledges it by hugging the doctor. But it does the exact opposite and asphyxiates the doctor. A funeral ceremony for Vanessa is held at a church. Cool detail here: as everyone is wearing dark-colored clothing, Wilson stands out. It’s because he is the only one wearing a white suit. He puts a rose on the casket of his wife, a final goodbye to her.

Meanwhile, Daredevil and his group of resistance plan on what to do next. With Bullseye now under their roof, conflicts will ensue.
“Vengeance isn’t justice, Karen.”
Bullseye gets patched up by Soledad. Additionally, she mentions he needs to go to a hospital, to which Matt disagrees, as he is confident that Bullseye’s enemies are waiting for him. Matt and Karen argue about how to stop this once and for all.
Moreover, if keeping Fisk alive is really the way or not. Understandably, we see Karen’s point of view here. As their fight with Fisk has brought them nothing but pain.
As Bullseye wakes up, he and Karen talk. He justifies that this is “just an equation.” Karen, seeing no remorse or regret from him, points a pistol to his forehead. She is ready to pull the trigger. However, at the last moment, Matt causes her to miss. They argue again; she questions Matt’s motives and why he still keeps doing it this way. We are going to say it: Deborah Ann Woll’s performance as Karen Page this season is spectacular. She delivers every line with emotion and a sense of urgency in every scene she is in.
Barium Meal test
Daniel Blake and BB Urich go to Daniel’s home in Staten Island. They visit his mother, as this is how he celebrates his birthday. Daniel still has trust issues with BB. As we know, the “City Without Fear” videos are BB’s work. She is the one parodying Fisk. Daniel keeps protecting her but runs out of ideas how. Additionally, Buck Cashman informs Daniel to keep BB close by. Both are having conflicting feelings, as the two are on opposite sides but remain friends regardless.
Jessica Jones returns
One of the hooks of this season is the return of Jessica Jones. We find out that she is living in the suburbs and now has a daughter, Danielle. She lives a fairly peaceful life, but it is cut short when they get ambushed by some mercenaries. Jessica and Daredevil meet up; she is “pissed.” Daredevil gets the information from Jessica that the mysterious Mr. Charles is interested in people like them. Mr. Charles and Kingpin are known to be “associates” at the very least.

A
s payback, the two of them ambush a port where the task force is loading weapons. It is so good to witness half of the Defenders team fighting again. Jessica is like a tank, as she just handles the task force with ease thanks to her powers. Additionally, this is the best so far we’ve seen her showcase her powers. We really like the opposite fighting styles displayed in this action sequence, with Jessica’s brute force to Daredevil’s acrobatic approach.
Daredevil v Fisk/Chaos at City Hall
Protests are escalating at the city hall in New York. People are now resisting how Wilson is doing his duties as mayor. Karen, Angela, and other resistance members are setting up something. The task force is barricading the angry protesters; Officer Powell shoots a fellow task force member as he finds out he is leaking information to the resistance. Powell uses the incident as leeway to threaten the protesters more. Moreover, as chaos ensues, Powell catches Karen at gunpoint.
Meanwhile, Fisk, still in grief, looks at the rabbit in the snowstorm painting. Note: he has been silent the whole episode up to this point. He finally speaks when Daredevil visits him. Moreover, they have a conversation on whether this is still about New York or if there is something more. Daredevil argues to Wilson that the fight is poison and it may see no end. Wilson is firm on his ways, and Matt reassures him; if that is the case, he will stop him. Whatever it takes. The two engage in a fight, ultimately leaving Daredevil as the victor. This is fairly shorter than their previous fights. But it tells a story here, and we all know the fight is not the last.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Episode 6 thoughts
We are reaching the climax for this one. The return of Jessica Jones is a welcome addition to Daredevil’s resistance to Wilson’s regime. Speaking of the Kingpin, with Vanessa gone, we may finally see him go wild and wreak havoc on his enemies here. We may finally see him embrace the Kingpin persona. This episode sets up what could be an eventful finale to season 2.
