Pulling Off the Big Heist: Keum-bo’s Bold Plan in Undercover Miss Hong Episode 12
Undercover Miss Hong episode 12 begins with Keum-bo telling Al that their first target is his father, who controls a large part of the slush fund. They plan to scam him using an old currency exchange trick tied to hidden political funds.
To make it believable, even FSS director Yun helps by spreading rumors among powerful circles. The story claims that the Myeongdong market has already been raided and, to raise the stakes, hints that Deok-gyu himself will be contacted.
Keum-bo’s role is to use a voice-modulation device to trick him into handing over 10 billion won. She shares advice with Al from a similar situation years ago, reminding him that even if family isn’t involved, tough choices sometimes require bold moves. Her story about Jung-woo inspires Al to commit fully to their plan.
When Deok-gyu delivers the money for a promised 30% return, he finds only bricks in one carefully chosen box. Surprisingly, he doesn’t recognize his own son in disguise and is left frustrated. Later, Al instructs him to sell his stocks to recover the loss. Meanwhile, the gang invests in Hanmin under the Yeouido Pirates, with Keum-bo acting as CEO of the investment firm.
The plan succeeds, and the investment closes smoothly. Thanks to this, Deok-gyu managed to make the 1997 fiscal year interest payments to the 12 assembly members just three days later. Finally, Pil-beom tasks Ju-ran with deciding how to handle the slush funds entrusted to them by the assembly members.
Keum-bo’s Father
Meanwhile, the company Keum-bo’s father had invested in goes bankrupt, and its owner tragically takes his own life. The police call Mrs. Hong, who panics, fearing her husband might have done something drastic since he’s been out all day. Rushing to the funeral home, she finds him there—but he’s just asking for money to pay his respects. Bom sweetly hands him some cash, and the three return home safely.
Later, Bom shares every detail with Keum-bo, even though her parents had asked her not to. Her curiosity and sharp mind show she’s not just observant, but clever enough to connect the dots on her own.

Ju-ran Knows What Keum-bo Did
At the end of episode 12, Ju-ran grows suspicious of Deok-gyu and asks Cha to check how many Hanmin shares he owns. To her shock, Cha discovers that Deok-gyu has only a single share in his name. Knowing Cha, it’s only a matter of time before he starts talking.
Before Ju-ran can report this to the chairman, No-ra’s mother arrives, announcing a private meeting with Pil-beom and No-ra. Surprisingly, Ju-ran steps aside quietly, giving them space—a rare show of patience from her. Later, while eating, No-ra notices Keum-bo’s father on the news.
He sold their daughters’ first gold rings to help the country’s economy, a move that amuses No-ra’s own father, who remains clueless about his company’s troubles. Meanwhile, Ju-ran learns from Cha that even selling just 1% of shares without reporting it could be grounds for dismissal. This sparks a clever idea in her mind about seizing power.
Elsewhere in Undercover Miss Hong episode 12, Mi-sook finally wakes up, and the gang reunites at the hospital. Keum-bo reassures her that Bom is safe with her parents, while Bok-hee reveals that everyone now knows Keum-bo’s true identity. As the episode closes, Ju-ran discovers that Jang-mi withdrew the entire slush fund—and even had Ju-ran’s approval. Just as one crisis ends, another begins: with all the money now in the dorm, the preview hints that Dal-su may try to steal it next.
