Instead she leaves the building, encountering a group of protesters on the way, demanding their wages. This confirms that their partner in the deal was going to shut down, shocking Mi-seon of the close call they almost fell into.

Tae-poong on the other hand braves out his own protest, about to get run down by the truck. Thankfully, Mi-seon rushes in to verify that the partner company is shutting down. As Mi-seon confirms the cancellation papers back at the office, Tae-poong does his best to delay the goods delivery.

Reaching for a Lifeline

The next day Tae-poong goes to Pyo Bak-ho, his father’s rival, for advice, and is treated kindly. He proceeds to check out the temporary storage room they can store the textiles in, making a hurried deal with the storage owner. Back at the office, the employees figure out what to do next, faced with a cancelled trade and a surplus of fabric on their hands.

Tae-poong and Mi-seon get to spend time together and they stay overtime in the office, with the bookkeeper teaching him the art of trading. He sees the passion in her—and finds out Mi-seon’s admiration for traders, wanting to be one herself.
