The Manipulated Episode 8 Recap: Suspicion and Defiance Inside Yong Sik’s Home
Detective Hwang (Lee Sung Woo) continues with his investigation, searching Yong Sik’s (Kim Jong Soo) home while Officer Yang (Kim Jae Chul) tries to keep things casual. Suspicion rises when Hwang speculates, “You don’t look surprised that I’m bringing Tae Joong up. Something you want to tell me?”

Yong Sik softly agrees it’s strange but denies knowing Tae Joong’s whereabouts. Tension escalates when Hwang barges into another room, only to be confronted by Eun Bi (Jo Yoon Si), who defends her father and kicks them out.
A Deadly Hint From Yo Han
Meanwhile, Hyeon Jung (Lim Hwa Young) meets a woman who “owns” the lost phone. Just as she hands it over, Tae Joong snatches it, and panic ensues, followed by a chase. Tae Joong and Yong Sik examine it, discovering photos tied to a dead man, evidence meant to frame Hyeon Jung.
At night, Tae Joong calls the unknown number linked to the phone, threatening the woman behind it. He arranges a negotiation, gives her the phone, then follows her taxi to a facility. Inside, Yo Han confronts his nervous director about the mishap. When the director admits to striking a deal without permission, Yo Han kills him without hesitation.

Later on, disguised as a cleaner, Tae Joong infiltrates the facility and secretly records how they fabricate evidence. But danger looms; his phone rings, alerting others. Yong Sik warns him that Hyeon Jung is in danger. At her salon, an intruder armed with a knife terrorizes her, demanding service. A brutal fight ensues until Tae Joong arrives, battling the attacker as Hyeon Jung shields her daughter. Police sirens force the intruder to flee moments before Yong Sik arrives.
Yo Han watches Tae Joong’s infiltration with amusement. His calm is broken when Do Kyung (Lee Kwang Soo) and his father confront him about Tae Joong’s escape and find out he was his fall guy. “You said they’d all die on their own. So how the hell is mine wandering outside?!” Do Kyung rages.
The chairman demands Yo Han fix everything within a week. Yo Han promises resolution, while Do Kyung jokes he could kill Tae Joong himself. Yo Han laughs, unfazed, but realizes Tae Joong is getting closer to the truth. “Park Tae Joong and his friends want answers. We should at least give them a hint.”
Eun Bi discovers Tae Joong’s Reasons
Back home, Eun Bi discovers Tae Joong’s evidence wall and is horrified. “Is this son of a b*tch a stalker? What the hell?!” Her shock deepens when Yong Sik, Tae Joong, Hyeon Jung, and her daughter arrive. Tae Joong explains that someone is going after Hyeon Jung, showing her a file full of information.

Realizing the danger, Tae Joong suggests they hide somewhere with no connections. Eun Bi reluctantly helps, offering her home. She confronts Tae Joong, “Who are you really? I’m seriously confused. Did you kill someone?” He explains his situation, leaving her unsettled. Still, she gives her phone number to Yong Sik, allowing him to reconnect with her—a moment he cherishes.
Yo Han Points Tae Joong Toward Baek Do Kyung
News reports soon announce an arrest for killing a pianist. It was supposed to be Hyeon Jung, but Yo Han redirected the blame to another target. Furious, Tae Joong returns to the facility, only to find the woman he negotiated with—and the entire staff—dead. Amidst the chaos, the severed head of the fictitious prison doctor rests, a chilling warning from Yo Han that anyone who thwarts his plans will face certain death.

A screen flashes Do Kyung’s photo with the words, “Baek Do Kyung is the real culprit. Now find him.” Watching from his monitor, Yo Han smirks, watching Tae Joong know everything “Now it’s time to follow the right path, Park Tae Joong.”
