My Youth Episode 8 Recap: Sunny Days

Tae-rin and Seok-joo buy bubbles together; Seok-joo scolds her for not paying attention to the prices. Later, on the rooftop of their new office, the two play with bubbles.

At the park, Je-yeon searches for someone to teach her how to ride a bike. A child approaches and offers to guide her. Meanwhile, Hae returns to the bookstore, asking the owner what she wants to do before she dies.

Je-yeon then stops by Geon-no’s bar to ask him about Hae’s illness. Walking home with Nu-ri, Hae asks if she misses her biological mother. She walks out and Je-yeon shows up at their home.

Hae and Je-yeon go to a nearby park. He opens up about his condition. Je-yeon tells him she’s leaving again.

At a company meeting, Pil-doo plans to leverage the public’s renewed interest in Hae for promotion. She also announces Seok-joo will lead a new division. Han-na also holds a meeting in her new company, and Je-yeon joins both the meeting and the team’s dinner.

Afterwards, Je-yeon receives a call: the documentary has hit number one thanks to the revelation that Hae is the same as the author Jin Mu-yeong. Tae-rin has suspicious about Je-yeon’s behavior so she calls Hae. She asks if something is going on between him and Je-yeon.

My Youth episode 8 flashback with siblings Song Joong-ki, Seo Ji-hoon, Choi Jung-woon open Start of Spring flower shop

Start of Spring

At his flower shop, Hae stumbles upon his old diaries. He reads an entry about opening Start of Spring, his flower shop. Away, Je-yeon also visits the kindergarten where her mother works.

Chan learns that Hae is the author of World Made of Ash, but the book is already out of print. As the CEO of a publishing company, he calls Hae to arrange a reprint. Hae goes to Chan’s office, and confronts his father for meeting Nu-ri in secret.

Hae breaks down as he recalls his father abandoning him as a child. He also reveals that he’s dying. This prompts Chan to slap him, but he ends up crying himself.

At the supermarket, Hae tells Nu-ri she should meet her mother. Later, Hae drinks with a stranger—a baseball coach. Before leaving, the coach hands Hae his card, inviting him to play baseball someday.

Back at home, Je-yeon is teased about Seok-joo so she calls him. Seok-joo is actually carrying a drunk Hae home. The next morning, Hae has breakfast with Nu-ri who offers him her savings as she points out the flower shop’s decline. Nu-ri storms out, upset that Hae didn’t leave her at the park years ago.

The Fall

Elsewhere, Je-yeon and her mother hike together. Driving a truck, Hae picks up Je-yeon afterwards. They go to Han-na’s home to retrieve the office chairs mistakenly delivered there.

Before heading back to the office, Je-yeon asks Hae to teach her how to ride a bike. Hae advises, “Don’t picture yourself falling. Just look straight ahead and go. Don’t be afraid. Look ahead. Don’t look down.”

Still at the park, Je-yeon urges Hae to give their relationship another try. However, he refuses as he is afraid of becoming a burden to her. To discourage her even more, he tells her he doesn’t like her and walks away.

In the washroom, Hae suffers a nosebleed as ambulance sirens wail in the distance. When he steps outside, onlookers murmur about an accident involving a woman on a bike. Hae tries to call Je-yeon but gets no answer.

My Youth Episode 8 Reaction

This episode just drags the breakup feels from the previous one; the dialogue is just even more beautiful and heartfelt this time around. It’s clear why Hae wants to pull away and keep Je-yeon at a distance. Yet, despite being rejected when she’s a child, a teenager, and now as an adult, giving up simply isn’t in Je-yeon’s vocabulary.

My Youth Episodes 9 and 10 Release Date and Details

Released on October 3, 2025, the next episodes of My Youth bring Hae and Je-yeon back together, while Tae-rin takes a bold step and tries to kiss Seok-joo.
