My Youth Episode 6 Recap: Delivering Happiness

Before the commotion, Je-yeon suffers a sudden nosebleed. Later, she sits on a bench with Hae. They have a heart-to-heart regarding Hae’s tendencies.

At the flower shop, Chan stops by. Hae asks for his old photo album, and while Chan promises to send it via courier, he decides to personally deliver it instead. When Hae flips through the album, he notices there are no photos of Je-yeon.

That night, Je-yeon waits in front of Hae’s house, where she unexpectedly bumps into Nu-ri and her boyfriend, Choi Sa-rang. Nu-ri begs her not to tell Hae. Then, in private, she tells her boyfriend that Je-yeon has “a thing” with her brother.

Pil-doo and  Tae-rin discuss contract renewal. Tae-rin grows teary-eyed as she leaves, and Seok-joo arrives just in time to hand her a handkerchief. Later, when he returns her bag, Tae-rin accuses him of hitting on her. Seok-joo calmly denies.

Seok-joo then stops by the flower shop to drop off Tae-rin’s bag. In return, Hae asks him to keep the photo album safe.

Later, Hae and Seok-joo carry a package to the Kim family’s home, but they hide when Hae’s parents unexpectedly arrive. In a panic, Seok-joo hastily hides the photo album after Chan almost trips over it. Pil-doo notices and asks what he was trying to hide. He tells her it’s something she might not want to see.

As they head out, the two argue and end up revisiting their painful history—how Chan left Pil-doo to start a family with Hae’s mother. Chan decides to leave, and Pil-doo stays behind with tears in her eyes. A few moments later, Seok-joo’s phone rings. Pil-doo notices but chooses to ignore them.

Meanwhile, Je-yeon shows up at Hae’s house to meet with the PD’s daughter to discuss Hae’s beginnings as a writer and get writing feedback from him. When Je-yeon returns to the office, Pil-doo suspends her over the previous commotion.

Gambling on Happiness

With unexpected spare time, Je-yeon treats her suspension as her first vacation. She then visits the flower shop, where she picks up flowers for Bang Han-na’s new office. There, she learns that Tae-rin is transferring to the new agency. Coincidentally, she also crosses paths with Choi Gi-ppeum, a new hire in the agency and the same driver who failed his test before, along with Seok-joo.

Meanwhile, Hae goes to the hospital by himself. There, it’s revealed that he has amyloidosis.

The story circles back to the park, where Hae reflects on life’s unpredictability. Je-yeon responds with quiet conviction: “You’re not going to bet on misfortune. Not the you that I know.”

At the end of the episode, Je-yeon goes to the flower shop. When Hae arrives, she gathers her courage and confesses that she likes him.

My Youth Episode 6 Reaction

The dialogue and sequences in this episode are beautifully crafted. It’s endearing to see the heroine take charge by encouraging the hero to take a chance on his own happiness and bravely confessing her feelings. With Pil-doo getting more spotlight, her actions and attitude start to make more sense.

And honestly, at this point, the only truly exasperating character in this K-drama is Chan.
