Ji Eun turns back into a woman, but just before heading to the club where Yoon Jae and Min Joo are, she suddenly transforms into a man again.
My Girlfriend Is the Man! episode 3 begins with Ji Eun waking up as a woman again, surprising Yoon Jae. He hides her from Min Hyuk, then rushes her to the hospital due to a fever. When she wakes up, Yoon Jae tells her she’s back to normal, and the two share a joyful hug.
My Girlfriend is the Man! stars ASTRO’s Yoon San-ha as Park Yoon Jae, OH MY GIRL’s Arin as Kim Ji Eun, Yoo Jung Hoo as Kim Ji Hoon (the male version of Ji Eun), and soloist Chuu as Kang Min Joo, airing every Wednesday and Thursday on KBS2, with episodes also available on Viu.
The story centers on Kim Ji Eun and Park Yoon Jae—an ordinary, happy couple until one morning, Ji Eun wakes up as a handsome man, shocking both her boyfriend and her older sister, Kim Ji Hye.

My Girlfriend is the Man! Episode 3 Recap: Ji Hoon as Ji Hye’s boyfriend?
Feeling pressured as her peers began getting married, Kim Ji Hye lied about having a boyfriend and used photos of Ji Hoon (Ji Eun) to back up her story. During a video call, she expected Ji Eun to appear as a man—but when Ji Eun showed up as a woman, her friends were stunned, leaving Ji Hye humiliated.
The next day, their parents dropped by unannounced and spotted men’s items around the house. To cover up her secret, Ji Eun quickly claimed the belongings were her sister’s boyfriend’s, throwing Ji Hye into another awkward situation.

Ji Eun’s jealousy towards Kang Min Joo
As Ji Eun made her way to meet Yoon Jae at the university, Kang Min Joo—an overly friendly and popular girl—suddenly showed up and clung to Yoon Jae’s arm. Ji Eun saw it, and jealousy hit her like a wave.
When she learned that Min Joo and Yoon Jae shared some kind of past—and watched how clingy Min Joo acted around him—her frustration only deepened. To make matters worse, Min Joo invited Yoon Jae to a Department of Astronomy gathering at a club.
Later at the restaurant, still burning with jealousy, Ji Eun grabbed a beer and let her frustration pour out on Yoon Jae. Refusing to back down, she insisted he go to the club—with her. As soon as she got home, she dove into her closet, meticulously picking out the perfect outfit.

Ji Eun Turns Back into Ji Hoon
At the club, Min Joo brought Yoon Jae inside while he waited for Ji Eun. When Yoon Jae went to the restroom, he left his phone behind. Ji Eun called, and Min Joo answered, purposely letting Ji Eun hear her expressing interest in Yoon Jae.
This upset Ji Eun, who suddenly transformed back into Ji Hoon. Frustrated, Ji Hoon called Min Hyuk, asking for clothes and company to head to the club.
Meanwhile, Yoon Jae was pressured into drinking and soon got drunk. Min Joo used the moment to dance with him, but just then, Min Hyuk and Ji Hoon arrived, stepping in to stop her from getting too close.
Tension flared between Min Joo and Ji Hoon, while Yoon Jae—clueless about what was going on—kept dancing until he stumbled and collapsed. Ji Hoon rushed to his side. Seeing him, Yoon Jae was shocked that Ji Eun had turned back into a man, but still smiled and said he was glad to see him. Ji Hoon helped him up and took him home.
Meanwhile, Kim Ji Hye was on a bus when she spotted Hong Young Seok—her first love back in high school.

Yoon Jae reveals his struggle with Ji Eun’s constant changes.
While filming her drunk brother at home, Yoon Ah accidentally left her phone in Yoon Jae’s room. The video unknowingly caught Ji Hoon gently taking care of him—and also recorded an emotional moment where Yoon Jae broke down in front of Ji Eun, overwhelmed by the pain of dealing with her constant transformations.
People shouldn’t change, but you changed again. Why do you keep switching between being Ji Hoon and Ji Eun? Why do you change into a man and then back into a woman?
The video made Ji Eun realize how selfish she had been. Meanwhile, after watching it, Yoon Jae started worrying about Ji Eun—especially since days had passed without seeing or hearing from her.

Ji Eun wants to break up in My Girlfriend is the Man! episode 3
After days of no contact, Yoon Jae and Ji Eun met again at the café where they first met. Yoon Jae apologized for his drunken words, but Ji Eun suggested breaking up, not wanting to hurt him anymore.
Instead of giving in, Yoon Jae took her to play online games. There, he told her firmly that they couldn’t break up just yet. He admitted he never expected her to keep turning back into a man, but even so, the thought of losing her felt far more unbearable, and left him feeling empty.

My Girlfriend Is the Man! episode 4 teases a chaotic night as both Min Hyuk and Yoon Jae visit Ji Eun’s (Ji Hoon’s) house, while Yu Ri also ends up sleeping over. The episode premiered on Thursday, July 31, 2025, and is now streaming on Viu with English subtitles.
