Kim Ji Eun turns back into Ji Hoon and breaks up with Yoon Jae, who gets drunk and ends up spending the night at Min Joo’s place.
In My Girlfriend is the Man! episode 11, which aired on August 27, Ji Eun wakes up once more as Kim Ji Hoon. Faced with this, Yoon Jae decides not to leave for Corning. Ji Hoon then breaks up with Yoon Jae, leading Yoon Jae to drink heavily and spend the night at Min Joo’s place—only to be caught by Ji Hoon as he leaves her home.

My Girlfriend is the Man! Episode 11 Recap: Kim Ji Eun is Kim Ji Hoon
Min Joo called Ji Hoon right in front of Kim Ji Eun until she answered the phone and revealed the truth—that she was Kim Ji Hoon. Later, when Yoon Jae visited her, Ji Eun prayed to remain as Kim Ji Eun for the rest of her life.
While lying on Yoon Jae’s lap, Ji Eun eventually fell asleep. But when Yoon Jae woke up, he found Kim Ji Hoon on his lap instead. Both Ji Hoon and Yoon Jae were devastated, wishing it were only a dream and struggling to accept that she had changed again.
The next day, Min Joo asked Yoon Jae if he was alright with their situation. Yoon Jae replied that he had no choice but to accept it, as this was the only way he could protect Ji Eun. He also begged her not to tell anyone, and Min Joo assured him that she had no intention of using Ji Eun’s flaw against her—besides, no one would believe her anyway.

Meanwhile, seeing her friend feeling down after turning into a man again, Yu Ri took Ji Hoon out for a run. As he reflected on how his relationship with Yoon Jae had suffered because of his constant transformations, it helped him sort out his thoughts about them.
Min Joo tells Ji Hoon to let Yoon Jae go
Yoon Jae turned down the opportunity at Corning University because of Kim Ji Eun. This upset Min Joo, who asked if he truly saw Kim Ji Eun and Kim Ji Hoon as the same person. He said yes, but when she pressed further on whether he could love them both in the same way, he couldn’t answer.
Meanwhile, Yoon Jae’s mother overheard Ji Hoon and Yoon Ah talking about his relationship with Yoon Jae. Shocked, she fell ill and later angrily confronted Yoon Jae about having a “romantic relationship” with him.
Later that night, Min Joo told Ji Hoon that Yoon Jae had given up attending Corning University for him. She questioned how long Ji Hoon would trouble Yoon Jae for his own happiness and warned that this might not be the only sacrifice Yoon Jae would make for him in the future.

Kim Ji Hoon asks Park Yoon Jae to break up
The next day, Ji Hoon confronted Yoon Jae about giving up Corning University. Overwhelmed with guilt, he admitted he couldn’t stand himself for ruining Yoon Jae’s future and family.
Being with you doesn’t make me happy anymore. Let’s really break up this time—for real. Please, I beg you.
Both of them broke down in tears, left completely heartbroken after the breakup.

The next day, just before Ji Hoon left to stay at Yu Ri’s place, he spoke to Min Joo, reminding her, “You told me to just break up with him and that you’d handle the rest.” He told her they had broken up and expressed his hope that she would still encourage Yoon Jae to go to Corning University—and she did the following day.
Yoon Jae ends up at Min Joo’s after drinking
Yoon Jae finally applied to Corning University. To celebrate, Min Joo took him out for drinks, where he ended up getting severely drunk. In his drunken state, he broke down in tears, saying, “I swear, I’m not okay,” as he searched for Ji Eun before stumbling back home.
Later that night, Min Joo returned home and found Yoon Jae lying helplessly on Ji Eun’s doorstep, so she brought him inside her place. As she quietly watched him sleeping, she leaned in and attempted to kiss him—only for Yoon Jae to murmur Ji Eun’s name in his sleep.

The next morning, as soon as Yoon Jae woke up, he quietly left the apartment—only to run into Ji Hoon, who had just arrived home. Ji Hoon saw Yoon Jae stepping out of Min Joo’s place, but instead of confronting him, he simply walked past in silence.
Yoon Jae wanted to explain, but Ji Hoon said, “There’s no need for an explanation. As you already know, we’re nothing now.” Heartbroken, Yoon Jae replied,
Right. It’s over between us.

In My Girlfriend is the Man! episode 12, airing on August 28, Yoon Jae tearfully asks Ji Hoon if he truly wants him to leave. Later, Ji Hoon rushes to the airport to catch Yoon Jae’s flight. While working alone at the café, Ji Hoon encounters someone in a hoodie carrying luggage.
