Against the Odds in Dear X Episode 7
Dear X episode 7 begins with Ah-jin and In-gang sharing a sweet kiss under the falling snow. While at it, a reporter named Lim Hee-kook, cousin of Re-na, was snapping pictures of them. Elsewhere, Jun-seo was assisting Re-na on the way home. Re-na’s phone rang, and Jun-seo was the one who answered it. Hee-kook was telling her about Ah-jin and In-gang, asking what their relationship was as they were making out.
When Ah-jin and In-gang’s pictures got exposed, Mi-ri called Ah-jin to warn her. She told Ah-jin to stop whatever she has for In-gang before it affects their work. But Ah-jin said that her relationship with In-gang was not just a casual thing. Ah-jin asked Mi-ri if she got the photos from Hee-kook, followed by telling her that she’ll talk to the reporter.

In-gang also arrived at the room, while Ah-jin left him and Mi-ri to talk. Mi-ri asked In-gang what happened. Previously, In-gang said he wanted nothing to do with Ah-jin, and now they have something between them. But In-gang said he was happy and asked Mi-ri if she could just understand and support them.
Elsewhere, Ah-jin was seen talking to Hee-kook about the photos of her and In-gang. She told the reporter that she would give exclusive photos of them, but in return, he should write good things about them. True enough, the dating rumor about In-gang and Ah-jin worked, and it was more positive than negative.
The Downfall of Re-na
It seems like Ah-jin is still not done with her revenge on Re-na. Hyang-i, the former manager of Re-na and the current manager of Ah-jin, went on a date with Jae-oh. It seems like this was another plan from Ah-jin. When Re-na came out of Mi-ri’s room, she received a video of a drunk Hyang-i telling someone about her drunk driving.
Then Ah-jin suddenly appeared, telling Re-na that she already warned her to stop messing with her. Re-na begged Ah-jin not to expose the video or else her career would be over. But Ah-jin stood firm and refused to help her.
The next day, Ah-jin asked Hyang-i if she had already seen the video of her exposing Re-na. She said that she already warned her to watch her mouth when drunk. This leads to Ah-jin firing Hyang-i, saying she can’t work with someone she can’t trust.

The Blooming Relationship of In-gang and Ah-jin
As the beautiful relationship of Ah-jin and In-gang unfolds, lots of fans showed their love and support for both of them. The time they have together is so precious. It seems like the two have their own world—full of love and peace.
They enjoyed their vacations together, going to some places, and just spending time and savoring their sweet moments. Ah-jin gets the main role, and Re-na asked Jun-seo to watch it together. They saw Ah-jin on stage, and it reminded Jun-seo of when Ah-jin used to ask for help from him.
After the movie viewing, Ah-jin and In-gang were seen in the car being lovey-dovey together. Ah-jin told In-gang that she liked his natural scent better than any cologne, which made In-gang smile.
Meanwhile, Jun-seo went back home and found Jae-oh waiting for him. Both of them hadn’t heard from Ah-jin in a while now.

When the Past Keeps Coming Back in Dear X Episode 7
While Ah-jin was walking at a mall, an old classmate saw her—Sung-hee. She uploaded a post exposing Ah-jin’s behavior back in school. The issue quickly turned into a scandal, but soon after, Jae-oh and other former classmates called Sung-hee out for her hypocrisy. As a result, the post was taken down.
That night, In-gang was away on a work trip, and Ah-jin struggled to sleep. Hong Kyung-suk, In-gang’s grandmother, found out she was unwell and immediately came over to look after her. To Ah-jin’s surprise, Kyung-suk said she accepted her, even if every detail in the article was true.
Meanwhile, In-gang attended several promotional events during his trip. Mi-ri showed up and questioned why he kept delaying his decision on the next project. He hinted that he wanted to marry Ah-jin and start a family instead of rushing into more work.

Elsewhere, Choi Jung-ho—the coffee shop owner Ah-jin once had arrested—got released from jail. He approached Ah-jin to tell her he was out and then greeted Kyung-suk, revealing they met when she volunteered at the prison. At Jun-seo’s house, Jae-oh and Le-na unexpectedly ran into each other. As Jae-oh headed out, Ah-jin called him, and Jun-seo walked in just in time to realize she had reached out to Jae-oh again.

Jun-seo’s Little Ways
Mi-ri met with Jun-seo, who now serves as the CEO of Crowndium Pictures and secretly invests in Longstar Entertainment. His new novel is being turned into a film, and his contract with Mi-ri requires them to cast Ah-jin as the lead. Later, Ah-jin talked the offer over with In-gang, and he suggested they take a week to decide.
That night, Jun-seo came home and found Ah-jin waiting for him. She knew he used the contract to get her attention and called him out on it. He reminded her of her promise to end things with In-gang after a year, while she fired back by accusing him of cozying up to her rival, Le-na.
Jun-seo insisted he stayed close to Le-na only to keep her from messing with Ah-jin. Then Le-na walked in, saw them together, and immediately grew irritated.
Ah-jin, In-gang, Jun-seo, and Jae-oh—The Chaos Begins
On Ah-jin’s birthday, she and In-gang enjoyed a date at an upscale restaurant. Just as In-gang prepared to ask her something important, Le-na and Jun-seo suddenly showed up and joined them. Le-na then exposed Jun-seo and Ah-jin’s past relationship—and revealed that they had recently met.
In-gang took Ah-jin aside and demanded an explanation. She reassured him, but their talk was cut short when he got a call about his grandmother. Kyung-suk had been preparing a birthday dinner for Ah-jin when she discovered her missing diary—the same one Ah-jin stole. She returned to her apartment without eating, though In-gang only knew she found her long-lost diary.
Because he had a flight to catch, In-gang asked Ah-jin to check on Kyung-suk. Jae-oh drove her over. Jun-seo arrived soon after, and within moments, a heavy thud echoed through the house.
As Dear X episode 7 wraps up, they look up to see Ah-jin at the top of the stairs—and Kyung-suk lying at the bottom, blood all over her, seemingly dead.

Dear X Episode 7 Review
Dear X episode 7 begins with light scenes, far from the previous episodes. We witnessed the other side of Ah-jin with In-gang. Although we know her relationship with the actor was planned, there was a tiny hope that there was honesty in there. The way Ah-jin smiles and looks at In-gang seems nothing like a bluff.
At some point, I’m hoping that at the very least, Ah-jin felt something toward In-gang as well. Because the way I see it, In-gang was so deeply in love with her.
What makes this episode devastating was seeing Ah-jin at the crime scene where In-gang’s grandmother lies. What would have been In-gang’s feelings knowing the love of his life was the reason his grandmother died?
