HBO Max and TVING released the first four episodes of Dear X on November 06, 2025. Dear X episode 4, titled Three Blows to the Head, highlights how Baek Ah-jin planned his father’s demise. But this comes with a cost—a sacrifice one must suffer. She managed to escape as the suspect, and found a new stair in her dream to success—leaving Jun-seo behind.

The Death of Ah-jin’s Father in Dear X Episode 4
Dear X episode 4 opens with the aftermath of Jung-ho striking Sun-gyu with a bat. Sun-gyu soon dies, and Jung-ho disappears, leaving Ah-jin to handle the situation. She cuts up the beanie her father was wearing and flushes it down the toilet. Then she tells the police at the hospital that Jung-ho killed her father.
At the station, Jung-ho explains that Sun-gyu had been wearing the same beige beanie as Ah-jin’s stalker. But Ah-jin pretends she doesn’t remember. A flashback shows Jung-ho trying to call an ambulance after hitting Sun-gyu. But Ah-jin stops him, telling him that Sun-gyu is her father and that she will call for help herself.
Back in the present, a detective confronts Ah-jin about the delay in her 911 call, and she explains she had passed out. She overhears detectives planning to pin the blame on her to protect Jung-ho, who is about to make a baseball comeback, so she secretly records them. Later, when a detective finds fibers from the beanie in her toilet, Ah-jin cleverly gets access to a female officer and shows her the recordings, exposing the corrupt plans.
Meanwhile, the lead detective becomes determined to pin Ah-jin down, a representative from Longstar Entertainment offers help with hidden strings attached, and police begin tracking the stalker after finding footage of him with Ah-jin at the convenience store.
Jun-seo Admits the Crime
Jun-seo goes to the police and confesses that he has been stalking Ah-jin. He admits that he planned to take down Sun-gyu, who had been cruel to her, by drugging him at the motel. When Sun-gyu wasn’t there, Jun-seo explains that he went to Ah-jin’s house and struck Sun-gyu with the baseball bat while she was unconscious, which allows Ah-jin to be released.
A flashback reveals that after Ah-jin flushed the beanie, she hallucinated Sun-gyu speaking to her and struck him again. Jun-seo arrives afterward, sees Sun-gyu dead, collects the beanie pieces from the toilet, and wipes Ah-jin’s fingerprints off the bat before delivering the fatal blow.
In addition, he also leaves sleeping pills at the motel to make it look like he tried there first. Despite evidence showing he went to the motel after hitting Sun-gyu, the detectives charge Jung-ho with the crime. Both Jun-seo and Ah-jin walk free.

Ah-jin Finds Help Through Mi-ri in Dear X Episode 4
It turns out that Mi-ri orchestrated much of the chaos, since Ah-jin agreed to sign with her agency. However, Mi-ri insists that Ah-jin stay away from Jun-seo, believing that keeping them apart will prevent future complications as Ah-jin rises to fame and power. She secures the case files in a safe, ensuring they remain under her control.
Despite Mi-ri’s warning, Ah-jin meets Jun-seo, who confronts her about manipulating Jung-ho. He warns that she will face consequences for her actions. Still, he vows to stay by her side. Ah-jin, however, tells him this will be their last meeting and walks away.
Ah-jin ends up becoming a highly successful actress. Dear X episode 4 concludes with Jung-ho watching one of her films from jail—his eyes filled with regrets, probably anger.
What to Expect in the Next Episodes
Since Dear X episode 4 ended with Ah-jin becoming a successful actress and gaining fame, it heightens curiosity for the next episode. What will happen to Jun-seo now that Ah-jin is famous and well-known? Will Jung-ho return for revenge? More likely, viewers can expect to see more of the present Ah-jin, along with glimpses of her past and how she reached her current position.
