Marriage and Chaos in Dear X Episode 10

Dear X episode 10 opens with Do Moon-hyuk proposing to Ah-jin, promising to give her anything she desires. He slips a ring onto her finger, and she can’t help but laugh at the sudden turn of events.

Meanwhile, Jun-seo and Jae-oh narrowly escape the burning building set up by Moon-hyuk’s people. They make it out safely but worry when they cannot reach Ah-jin. Things worsen when Jun-seo receives a call that his grandfather is in critical condition. He rushes to the hospital, only to witness the old man pass away shortly after.

At the funeral, Ji-sun arrives, drawing curious stares from attendees. Jae-oh shows up as well and reassures Jun-seo that Ah-jin is safe.

Elsewhere, Sung-hee attempts to resell Ah-jin’s luxury bags. The police quickly intervene and take her to the station. When contacted, Ah-jin pretends that she handed over the bags and bails Sung-hee out. Back at home, the two argue again, showing that their conflict is far from over.

Family Secrets and Confrontations

At the funeral, a highly drunk Ji-sun throws a scene when she discovers that Jun-seo’s grandfather left her nothing in his will. In her anger, she reveals that Jun-seo is not biologically related to his grandfather. She also claims that Ah-jin knew this secret and used it to manipulate her.

When Jun-seo asks why she kept this from him, Ji-sun says it was to protect him from poverty and give him a proper father. Jun-seo, however, points out that Ji-sun raised him mainly to secure the grandfather’s inheritance. He realizes that her actions indirectly caused Ah-jin’s suffering, leading him to blame himself for her hardships.

Later that night, Sung-hee barges into Ah-jin’s room, demanding an apology for their past school conflict. Ah-jin, showing no remorse, tells her it was her own fault.

Sometime afterward, Jun-seo visits Ah-jin after she ignores his calls. He confronts her about his real father, and she admits that she kept the truth from him for his own good. Because he didn’t know, he received support from his grandfather and became the successful writer he is today. Jun-seo argues that if he had known earlier, he would have realized he caused Ah-jin’s trauma and would have done anything to make amends.

Ah-jin’s New Life and Hidden Tensions

Ah-jin moves into Do-hyuk’s mansion, where she’s shown to her bedroom. On the bed, she finds an invitation to her wedding with Do-hyuk in Italy. The ceremony takes place, and back home, Jae-oh sees the wedding announcement on TV. His boss, Ahn Do-kang, tells him it’s time to move on.

Meanwhile, Jun-seo receives a call from Le-na and meets her at the airport. She plans to leave for a long time and advises him to let go of Ah-jin and live freely. Jun-seo says he will let go of both Ah-jin and writing.

As Ah-jin settles into her new life, she discovers a locked door on the mansion’s third floor. She asks Madam Gong, the head housekeeper, to open it, but she says only the CEO has access. Later that evening, Ah-jin and Do-hyuk have dinner and discuss the new movie she’s starring in. When she tries to ask to use his study to rehearse, he offers to practice with her instead. Her script centers on a man who murders the protagonist’s family.

During their conversation, Do-hyuk opens up about his ex-wife, who became increasingly unstable and ended up in a psychiatric hospital. He blames himself for giving her too much, which seems like a subtle warning to Ah-jin. Later, while on set for her next blockbuster, Ah-jin overhears staff gossiping that Do-hyuk pulled strings for her and that she likely married him for his wealth.

Shadows from the Past Still Haunts Ah-jin in Dear X Episode 10

Back at the mansion, Ah-jin can’t find menstrual pads and decides to take a shower. When she comes out, a box of pads has mysteriously appeared on the counter. Later, after Do-hyuk returns from work, she notices a clock has stopped. Shockingly, it’s frozen at the exact time her father was abusing her, just before she killed him.

That night, Ah-jin wakes from a nightmare and smokes to calm herself. Meanwhile, Jun-seo calls Jae-oh out for a drink. He advises Jae-oh to live his own life and not get lost as he did. The next day, Jun-seo moves back into his mother’s house.

Ah-jin soon spots Jae-oh nearby and asks her manager to set up a meeting. Jae-oh notices she looks tired and asks if she’s okay. She asks him to investigate Do-hyuk and his ex-wife, unaware that Do-hyuk has bugged her car and is eavesdropping.

At the mansion, Madam Gong brings Ah-jin tea, insisting she drink it because Do-hyuk wants her to. Ah-jin throws it into the sink. Later, she discovers that Sim Sung-hee is working as a staff member in the house. While Ah-jin listens to music by the pool, Sung-hee sneaks up with a knife, intending to ruin her career by scarring her face.

Ah-jin reacts just in time, flips the knife, and slashes Sung-hee instead. Dear X episode 10 ends with Do-hyuk arriving to find Ah-jin laughing and Sung-hee screaming in horror.
