K-Drama
Cashero

Sang-ung, a man with a money-draining superpower, faces enemies, time-bending twists, and moral challenges as he fights to protect those he loves and uncover the truth in Cashero.

Cashero, a new Netflix series, aired on December 26, 2025. Cashero episode 8 opens with Eun-mi and Ho-in stepping in to help Sang-ung after his powers return. Together, they break into Beomha Logistics and face off against the Mundane Vanguard.

However, the fight takes a turn when Sang-ung runs out of money, allowing Nathan to reveal his real plan. He planted a bomb inside the building’s elevator and threatens to kill Min-suk unless Sang-ung hands over his powers.

As tension rises, Ho-in tries to stop Nathan, which sparks chaos inside the building. In the struggle, Sang-ung forces Nathan into the elevator with him while Min-suk desperately begs him to stop. Still, Sang-ung feels relieved knowing he saved her. When the elevator starts moving, he triggers the bomb, sacrificing himself and taking Nathan down with him.

How Does Sang-ung Come Back to Life in Cashero?

After Sang-ung’s death, the fallout hits hard. News reports reveal chaos across the city as Beomha’s new drug causes mass hallucinations and violent behavior among users. While Min-suk mourns, Ho-in assures her that hope remains because Detective Hwang has the ability to turn back time. At the same time, Anna breaks into Ho-in’s office and uncovers the truth about Hwang’s power.

Soon after, Anna’s men, Su-yeon, and Min-suk converge at the police precinct. Su-yeon helps fend off Anna’s men and reveals that she plans to travel to the past as well. Min-suk then finds Hwang and pleads with him to save Sang-ung, even as he warns her that changing the past always comes with a heavy cost. She argues that Sang-ung’s kindness should not lead to his death and declares that she is willing to pay the price, knowing that anyone who goes back in time loses years of their life.

In the end, Min-suk’s resolve convinces Hwang. He sends her back to the moment just before the elevator bomb explodes. She places money in Sang-ung’s hand, triggering his power as the bomb goes off. As a result, her memories disappear, and the timeline resets with Sang-ung alive in the present. However, the victory comes with a twist, as Nathan also survives due to Su-yeon’s interference.

What is Nathan’s goal?

Nathan’s goal becomes clear as he returns home with murder on his mind. He plans to kill Anna and Won-do, and although Anna manages to shoot him, So-yeon jumps in front of the bullet. The shot ricochets and hits Anna instead, allowing Nathan to finish her off, while Jeong-ja escapes with Won-do.

However, once the adrenaline fades, Nathan realizes how badly injured he is. To survive and grow stronger, he orders Su-yeon to inject him with every superpower ampoule available. Still unsatisfied, he refuses to stop until he takes Sang-ung’s power. To prove his strength, he kills So-yeon without hesitation and then unleashes a violent rampage, fully embracing his descent into chaos.

How is Nathan destroyed?

Nathan targets an apartment complex and lures Sang-ung to the scene, where Sang-ung arrives just in time to save a young girl. He first tries to talk Nathan down, but when that fails, he commits to stopping him once and for all. Ho-in and Eun-mi rush in to help, yet Nathan quickly overwhelms them and knocks them unconscious.

As the fight drags on, Sang-ung runs out of money, and Nathan mocks him, convinced no one will come to his aid. However, the little girl tosses him some money, which inspires others to follow. Soon, residents, the police, and even Min-suk start throwing money his way, allowing Sang-ung to regain his strength as he breaks down in tears, moved by their support.

Meanwhile, Eun-mi regains consciousness after hearing Hwa-jin’s voice and finds bread from a new brand called Bun & Mi. At the same time, Hwang gives Ho-in alcohol and reminds him to take better care of himself. Nathan scoffs at what he sees as over-the-top hero moments, but Sang-ung calmly remarks that this kind of thing comes with the job. Finally, Eun-mi and Ho-in manage to restrain Nathan, giving Sang-ung the opening he needs to land the decisive blow.

Cashero Ending Explained

Nathan is finally defeated once and for all. Jeong-ja exposes Won-do’s embezzlement and corruption, leading to his arrest and trial. Meanwhile, the police notice Hwang wearing a new watch, and he explains that he left his old, broken watch in the past, showing that he is ready to fully embrace his power.

Eun-mi discovers that Hwa-jin owns Bun & Mi, and they share a heartfelt reunion. At the same time, Ho-in works to reconnect with his daughter, who is still upset over his drinking, but she is willing to give their relationship a chance and even drinks with him.

Min-suk and Sang-ung finally move into their new apartment, starting a fresh chapter together. Min-suk reveals the news she has been keeping from Sang-ung—she is pregnant. The couple promises to work hard and give their child a happy and secure life, embracing the future with hope and determination.

Cashero Review

And just like that, Cashero wraps up. True to the rest of the series, the finale rushes through conflicts and loose ends without fully explaining the details. Instead, it focuses on action, emotional moments between characters, and giving each character some form of closure.

Still, the episode leaves viewers with more questions than answers. For instance, how does So-yeon piggyback on Hwang’s time travel when it only works with his watch? Moments like the public throwing money at Sang-ung without understanding his powers, Hwa-jin sneaking up on a passed-out Eun-mi, or Ho-in’s liver cancer having no real impact feel confusing and inconsistent.

Even morally gray characters like Jeong-ja suddenly act heroic, while questions about how the Jos could exploit Sang-ung’s money-losing ability remain unanswered. The finale also lacks the fun comedy and Lee Jun-ho’s charm, making it feel rushed and poorly written.
