20 years have passed since the premiere of the Korean drama Dae Jang Geum, and Lee Young-ae is back for it.
Fantagio confirmed on January 30 that the historical K-drama Uiju Dae Jang-geum (working title) is being readied to start filming this October with Lee Young Ae. They recently closed a contract with the drama writer, having cast main actress Lee Young Ae in June of last year.
Uiju Dae Jang-geum will cover the life story of Jang-geum, who became a medical maid following the MBC drama Jewel in the Palace that aired in 2003.
Aside from the historical drama, Lee Young Ae was also well-liked for her superb acting in the Korean dramas West Palace, Saimdang, and Inspector Koo. As well as motion pictures like Lady Vengeance and One Fine Spring Day.

She recently displayed yet another excellent acting metamorphosis in the K-drama Maestra: Strings of Truth, where she played the brilliant conductor Cha Se-eum.

Lee Young Ae is a renowned South Korean actress whose breakthrough role in the widely acclaimed historical Korean drama Jewel in the Palace catapulted her to international fame.
Additionally, Lee Young Ae showcased her versatility by portraying a revenge-seeking single mother in the criminal thriller, Lady Vengeance. In 1991, she debuted as a television model. She began her acting career in television dramas and films after making appearances in commercials.
In a personal milestone, Lee Young Ae tied the knot with Jeong Ho Young, a Korean-American businessman based in the US, in 2009. Lee Young Ae gave birth to twins, a son and a daughter, in 2011.
