Last April 21, Disney+ officially confirmed the second season of A Shop for Killers, along with an all-star cast reveal. Disney+ also announced that production is currently underway. A Look Back into Season 1

Based on a novel by best-selling author Kang Ji-young, A Shop for Killers follows Ji-an (Kim Hye-jun) as she unexpectedly inherits her deceased uncle’s illegal business, which is an online weapons shop on the dark web. After her parents’ death, Ji-an’s estranged uncle, Jin-man (Lee Dong-wook), takes her under his wing for several years. With no knowledge of her guardian’s true background, they both live seemingly normal lives. However, she doesn’t notice that Jin-man is preparing her for the approaching terrors.

One of the series’ strong points can be found in its crisp storytelling. Most of the episodes occur in one day, with flashbacks highlighting Jin-man giving Ji-an tips on how to survive dangerous situations being shown to flesh out its narrative. While this format may appear chaotic if done wrong, A Shop for Killers makes it a gripping watch by balancing the present’s high-stakes scenes and the character-building flashbacks.

Despite having a powerful finale, the end of season 1 naturally left its viewers with more unanswered questions. But that’s what makes the show even more of a gem! Its eight episodes set the next season perfectly, building up our curiosity for what’s to come.

On top of that, Jo Han-sun will reprise his role as Bale, our cold-blooded antagonist. The actors’ stellar performance in the first season makes their comeback all the more highly-anticipated.
