Wan discovers that Maewnam is the daughter of the owner of Mouse Mart, leading to a misunderstanding between them.
On July 23, 2025, Whale Store XOXO released its episode 5 on Netflix and the GMMTV YouTube channel. Episode 5: Try to Be a Rainbow in Someone’s Cloud takes viewers on a rollercoaster of emotions as a revelation shakes Wan and Maewnam’s relationship.
Whale Store XOXO is led by the charming sapphic couples Milk Pansa Vosbein as Wan, Love Pattranite Limpatiyakorn as Maewnam, June Wanwimol Jaenasavamethee as Tonnam, and Mewnich Nannaphas Loetnamchoetsakun as Chompu.
The series tells the story of Wan and Maewnam. After losing her father, Wan became unemployed and ended up inheriting his grocery store. There, she met Maewnam, a hardworking university professor who also runs errands for people in their community.
Maewnam manages her “Maewnam’s Services” business in the morning and teaches in the evening. She has always been supportive of Wan throughout her stay at the grocery store. But when the truth about Maewnam’s family comes to light, it sparks a conflict with Wan.

Maewnam’s Attempt to Tell the Truth; Wan Discovers Her Father’s Debt in Whale Store XOXO Episode 5
Whale Store XOXO episode 5 begins with Maewnam venting to Tonnam and Chompu about her struggle in telling Wan the truth. In previous episodes, it was revealed that Maewnam is the daughter of the owner of Mouse Mart—direct competition to Wan’s family grocery store.
Tonnam and Chompu tried to analyze the situation using a SWOT analysis—just like professors do. After evaluating the details, Chompu concluded that there’s a 50% risk if Maewnam doesn’t tell Wan the truth. Tonnam, however, disagreed and confidently claimed there’s a 100% chance that secrets don’t stay buried forever.
This scene made me agree with Tonnam because, in my opinion, secrets never remain secret. One way or another, the truth always comes out. And so, Maewnam would eventually have to face the consequences of hiding her identity from Wan.
Meanwhile, Wan visits the ongoing construction site of Mouse Mart, where she runs into the head contractor (played by Louis Thanawin). She asks when the construction will be completed, and he responds that it will be finished in just a month.
Back at the grocery store, Wan finds her friend Noey waiting for her. Noey breaks the news that Wan’s father left behind a debt of 450,000 baht. Wan is completely shocked and devastated by this revelation.
Noey suggests that Wan could try to pay it off over two years, but Wan responds that she can’t even manage a regular daily salary, let alone cover a debt that large.
On the other hand, Maewnam attempts to come clean to Wan about her identity. However, after realizing how much Wan resents Mouse Mart, she loses the courage to speak. She must have feared that Wan would hate her once she found out that Maewnam is the daughter of the store she despises most.

Tonnam and Chompu Quarrel Because of Mahnmook
Tonnam vents her frustrations to Maewnam about Chompu’s behavior lately. Ever since Mahnmook found out about their relationship, Chompu has been trying to cozy up to her.
Tonnam dislikes that Chompu immediately responds every time Mahnmook calls. She just doesn’t understand why Chompu feels the need to go that far. Although she knows Chompu is only trying to protect their relationship, it’s starting to affect their time together.
Later on, Chompu goes to Tonnam’s class to apologize. However, she’s met with Tonnam’s stoic expression. Tonnam asks her if she really had to do all those things for Mahnmook.
Their conversation then shifts to Chompu’s struggle with telling her mother about their relationship. In the heat of the moment, Chompu points out that while Tonnam’s family may accept their relationship, not all families will.
Chompu’s point is actually understandable. While some families are open to same-sex relationships, others are not. This situation between Tonnam and Chompu is really about communication and understanding each other.
In addition, to help Tonnam and Chompu, Maewnam volunteers to assist Mahnmook with her paper. She offers to replace Chompu so that Mahnmook can ask her for help anytime.
However, during a faculty dinner held as a welcome party for Mahnmook, Tonnam and Chompu get into a fight. When Mahnmook offers shrimp to Chompu, she accepts it—but Tonnam interrupts, questioning why she can’t just say she’s allergic to it.
The two argue at the table, and their banter continues. Their fight seems to run deeper than it appears.
Tonnam and Chompu have been keeping their relationship a secret out of fear that it won’t be accepted. But in doing so, crack after crack has started to form, slowly damaging their bond.

Wan Discovers the Truth About Maewnam Through Mahnmook
As Wan was about to close the store, Maewnam arrived—unexpectedly accompanied by Mahnmook. Wan was surprised to see her.
Maewnam asked if they knew each other, and Wan replied that they were old friends. When Mahnmook and Wan were left alone, Mahnmook suddenly blurted out that Wan could stop running the grocery store. According to her, Wan clearly had a thing for the daughter of Mouse Mart’s owner—Maewnam.
That revelation startled Wan, who had no idea about Maewnam’s identity. When she asked Mahnmook to repeat what she said, Mahnmook simply shrugged it off.
Personally, I feel that Mahnmook’s appearance isn’t just a coincidence. It’s as if everything was calculated—from becoming a professor at Maewnam’s university, to getting involved in Tonnam and Chompu’s relationship, all the way to revealing Maewnam’s identity. It’s almost as if she has an ulterior motive.
After learning the truth, Wan confronted Maewnam, asking why she didn’t just shop at Mouse Mart—since she’s the daughter of its owner.
Maewnam defended herself, explaining that she never meant to hide it. She even tried to tell Wan the truth, but after learning about Wan’s debt, she chose not to.

Chompu and Tonnam Reconcile in Whale Store XOXO Episode 5
Chompu tries to make amends with Tonnam and admits that her actions were wrong. She’s saddened by how distant they’ve become and how they’re no longer talking to each other.
Tonnam playfully teases Chompu by mentioning Professor Tik’s name, testing whether Chompu will drop the act. But after a moment, she shares that after taking time to reflect, she finally understands Chompu better.
Tonnam says she doesn’t want to be a source of stress for Chompu. If Chompu isn’t ready to tell her mother yet, she won’t force her. Just being together is enough.
Chompu expresses her love for Tonnam with a sweet kiss—firmly standing her ground.
Tonnam and Chompu’s relationship proves that miscommunication can strain even the strongest bonds. But through understanding, they’re able to rebuild and strengthen their connection.
Maewnam Finds Wan in Danger
Amid the tension between Wan and Maewnam after the truth was revealed, Maewnam still makes an effort to reach out. She even writes a letter to assure Wan that she won’t bother her and will give her time to think. But if Wan ever needs someone, she shouldn’t hesitate to call.
As fate would have it, Wan’s faucet breaks. She’s about to call Maewnam when the head contractor from Mouse Mart shows up. He helps her fix the faucet and is even given food as a thank-you.
Later, as Wan is about to close the store, the contractor returns—this time with flowers. Wan is stunned and refuses to accept them. The contractor then says he thought Wan liked him, which she quickly denies.
He begins moving closer, insisting that Wan was “throwing herself” at him. Wan explains that she was just being polite, offering basic customer service, but he refuses to believe her.
He then starts harassing Wan and forcefully touches her. Thankfully, Maewnam arrives just in time to help. After the contractor flees, Maewnam mentions that her taekwondo training finally paid off—she was able to protect Wan.
Therefore, Moments like this are a reminder that women should be empowered to defend themselves. Some men still assume that kindness equals flirtation—and that mindset needs to be challenged.

Wan and Maewnam in the Girlfriend Stage
Whale Store XOXO Episode 5 explored the journey of Wan and Maewnam—not just the beautiful moments, but the rough ones too. After the truth was revealed, Wan was deeply hurt because she trusted Maewnam. But after some reflection, she realized that Maewnam isn’t a bad person.
Maewnam apologized once again for hiding the truth. She explained that when she missed the right moment to tell Wan, everything started to feel off. Even though she lied, she insisted that her feelings for Wan were always genuine.
While Maewnam was busy with her university duties, Wan called her saying the CCTV was broken. Maewnam rushed to the store without hesitation—only to find that Wan had finally given her full marks in their deal.
Wan even handed Maewnam a certificate, followed by the words: “Be my girlfriend.” In response, Maewnam ran to the transparent refrigerator and wrote, “Yes, I do.”
What followed was a beautiful moment between the two of them.

Episode 6 Preview and Other Details
Whale Store XOXO episode 6 is set to air on July 30, 2025, on Netflix and the GMMTV YouTube channel. The episode promises more sweet scenes from both Wan and Maewnam, as well as Tonnam and Chompu.
