That Summer Episode 7 Recap: Lava and Peng must keep the prince safe
Lava and Wave head out to watch the sunrise together. As they wait, Wave shares why he prefers sunrises—to him, a sunrise feels like a fresh beginning, filled with hope. Unlike sunsets, which can feel a bit sad, sunrise makes him believe that no matter how difficult life becomes, you can always start again.
Then, Lava brings up a “what if” — what if Wave had a wealthy family, a warm home, and someone who truly loved him waiting for him? Wave admits it sounds nice but says he’s already happy — sitting there, watching the sunrise with the person he loves is a kind of happiness no amount of money can replace.
Later that day, Lava goes for a run with Tum. While running, he thinks about Peng’s warning—he can’t tell Wave the truth yet about him being Prince Davin. Lava feels Wave deserves to know, but Peng reminds him that the prince is still in danger, and they were entrusted to protect him until Arantha comes to retrieve him.
Meanwhile, in Arantha, Natee reports back to the rebels’ General, claiming everything on the island has been handled — including Prince Davin and the two men who “rescued” him, Lava and Peng.
Back on Bangsawan Island, Peng checks if Lava is acting normal around Wave, reminding him that they’re doing this for the prince’s safety— and for Arantha.

Win the Village Head Election… or Lose Wut
Peng and Lava get ready to put up campaign posters, but they discover the ones already posted were vandalized. Wave gets upset, questioning why people have to play dirty and drag Peng’s personal life into this now that everyone knows he’s dating a man.
Later, Wut and his father show up at Peng’s resort to confront him. Wut’s father walks in furious, shouting, “You’ve been seeing my son for a year behind my back! You totally humiliated me!” At first, it looks like he’s angry about Peng dating his son — but he quickly makes it clear he’s actually angry because Peng hid it. He even says,
You thought I couldn’t handle my son dating a man? Don’t think that just because I’m old, I won’t be open to anything. However my son is, whoever he loves — I’ll love them too.
However, because he’s a respected figure on the island, he worries about the gossip — people saying the “director’s son got played by a guy from Bangkok.” Peng defends their relationship, insisting that he and Wut truly love each other.
But Wut’s father challenges Peng: if he wins the village head election, he’ll give them his blessing to marry his son — but if Peng loses, they must break up.

Lava, Wave, Tum, and Kratae help Peng campaign in That Summer Episode 7
With this, Wave, Lava, Tum, and Kratae go all-out with their campaign. They all promote Peng’s platform to “protect the environment, promote tourism, and say no to corruption” and bring a new beginning to the island.
Everything goes smoothly — until they run into the same auntie who saw Peng and Wut together back in episode 6, likely the one who started the gossip. She refuses to support a “faggot village head,” insisting that men who like men shouldn’t have that role. Lava snaps and argues with her, unable to control his temper.
Later that night, while Wave is asleep, Lava sneaks out and vandalizes Peng’s rival’s campaign poster with the word “outdated.” Wave catches him in the act and scolds him, reminding him they should stay clean and play fair. Lava, worried after Wave followed him alone, demands that Wave never go anywhere by himself — that he must stay by Lava’s side day and night.

Locals speak for Peng in That Summer Episode 7
During the public campaign event, Peng gets extremely nervous and almost walks off stage without finishing his speech. But before he can leave, Lava and Wave arrive with the locals who have worked with Peng. They step forward and speak in his place — telling the crowd how Peng has always tried to do good for the island, even though he came from Bangkok as an outsider.
They share how Peng brought tourists in, helped clean up the island, and gave jobs to locals — even those others wouldn’t hire, like a pregnant woman. Tum talks about how Peng helped him turn his life around after drug addiction, and Wave shares how Peng gave him a second chance at life by welcoming a complete stranger into his home and family. Wave ends by saying:
His personal life doesn’t make him less capable — it makes him stronger, because he’s had to fight for acceptance. So please give Uncle Peng the chance to give this island a new life like he gave me mine.
Wave makes Lava’s life better in That Summer Episode 7
Wave catches Lava smoking again. When Lava learns that Wave hates the smell, he immediately says he’ll quit for him. Wave tells him he should care about himself more — that Lava pretends not to care but actually cares deeply about others, sometimes even more than himself. Wave then reflects on Peng and Wut’s situation, saying it’s painful that two people who love each other so much still can’t be together.
Later in the episode, the two attend a party. Lava’s friend from Bangkok, Jay, pressures Lava to take drugs. Lava refuses, but Jay keeps pushing — until Wave steps in. Lava defends Wave, telling Jay not to touch him. When Jay questions why Lava would choose his “new boyfriend” over a four-year friendship, Lava answers, “It doesn’t matter how long—he makes my life better.” Jay walks away defeated.
After that, Lava opens up to Wave. He swears he won’t ever use drugs again — that he doesn’t want to return to the meaningless life he once lived: drinking hard, acting out, and trying to hurt his mom after she abandoned him. He says he reached a point where he stopped caring about himself — and she still didn’t care, either.
Wave comforts Lava through the night. The next day, Jay apologizes to Lava and leaves the island.

Wave found out he’s Prince Davin in That Summer Episode 7
Wave hates the idea of Lava getting hurt in order to earn money and even offers to sell his watch so Lava wouldn’t have to fight for his father’s motorcycle. But Lava refuses, determined to handle it on his own. Days later, with Wave, Peng, and everyone else cheering him on, Lava steps into the ring, wins the match, and earns the money.
Later, Peng and Lava discuss Lava’s boxing skills, and Lava jokingly says he’s keeping fit because “I have to be ready to be Prince Davin’s royal guard.” Lava admits he feels uneasy lying to Wave, and Peng understands — Lava has fallen for the prince and finds it difficult to let go.
While Lava doesn’t want to let go, Peng reminds him that it’s unlikely for an ordinary person like him to be with a prince and warns him to stay prepared since someone could come for the prince at any moment— unaware that Wave is eavesdropping.
Wave refuses to accept he’s Prince Davin in That Summer Episode 7
Later, Wave has a video call with Natee, whose real name is Paolo, a royal guard of Arantha. Paolo confirms to Wave that he is indeed Prince Davin Evarech Delloy, the next heir to the throne, and explains the situation for his family in Arantha. Following Princess Anya’s orders, Paolo assures Wave that they will be freed soon and instructs him to stay on the island in the meantime.
As Wave leaves after hearing all this, Lava follows him. Wave confronts Lava, asking if everything that happened between them was a lie or merely part of orders to keep him safe. Lava reassures him, insisting it’s all genuine. Despite Lava continuing to call him “Your Highness,” Wave insists,
I’m not a prince. I’m Wave. Even if you tell me who I am, I still can’t remember. No matter what, I’m Wave, Nava Mahasamut.
Thinking it was all a lie or just orders, Wave feels more hurt than he did from losing his memories and walks away, leaving Lava alone.
