That Summer Episode 6 Recap: Lava gets injured protecting Wave

In That Summer episode 6, Lava tries to keep his relationship with Wave a secret from Kratae and Tum, not wanting to ruin Tum’s moment as he flirts with Kratae. Amused by Lava’s thoughtfulness, Wave teases, “You’re sweeter than I thought, thinking about others more than I do,” to which Lava replies, “I’ve got plenty of sweet sides, but my bad side hides them all.”

Later, Lava tells Wave that he plans to join a boxing match to win money and reclaim his father’s motorcycle—the one thing that might make his father proud.

That night, trouble finds them again when the eatery owner’s son and his friends from episode 3 pick a fight. To avoid serious trouble, Lava and Wave run off and hide. In the chaos, Wave’s slippers tear, and Lava gives him his own, ending up barefoot.

While hiding, Lava accidentally steps on a nail. Once the men leave, Wave carefully tends to the wound.

Meanwhile, Peng fetches Dr. Wut and asks him to stay over, unaware that someone spots their affectionate moment in public. The two continue their sweet moments at Peng’s house. Soon after, their moment gets interrupted when Lava and Wave return home, and Wut treats Lava’s injured foot.

Peng loses his temper at Lava for getting into trouble again, scolding him harshly. Frustrated, Lava snaps back, saying, “I’m just trouble wherever I go,” and storms off.

Wave stands up for Lava against Peng

Wave immediately steps in, asking Peng not to be too hard on Lava. He explains that Lava never means to cause problems, but Peng admits he’s just afraid of history repeating itself—someone getting hurt because of Lava’s impulsiveness.

Peng insists that Lava needs to change before returning to the city. However, Wave disagrees, defending Lava. He points out that Lava has always meant well—protecting the auntie from the motorcycle rider that led to his father getting shot, or getting hurt while protecting Wave—insisting that Lava doesn’t need to change at all.

Peng softens, revealing that he’s only worried about Lava’s future. With his father gone and his mother not wanting him, he fears Lava will end up alone—just like he once was. Wave reassures him, reminding Peng that Lava has both of them, so he’s never truly alone.

Later, Wave finds Lava down with a fever and stays up all night taking care of him. The next day, Wave and Peng track down the men who attacked them and warn them not to cause any more trouble.

When they return home, Lava asks where they went, but Wave simply tells him that Peng really cares about him. Still hurt, Lava says he wishes Peng would show it kindly instead of yelling. Wave then reminds him that people just express love and care in different ways.

Natee arrives on the island, stirring Lava’s jealousy

Natee, the man sent from Arantha to kill Prince Davin, checks into Peng’s resort and meets Wave, who shares that he lost his memories and is repaying Peng and Lava for saving his life. Lava interrupts, asking Wave to accompany him to the hospital for a tetanus shot, but despite Lava’s protests, Natee insists on driving them—growing jealous along the way.

While Kratae gives Lava a tetanus shot, she notices his closeness with Wave and teases, “Taking advantage of making him your boyfriend while he remembers nothing? Be careful—someone might reclaim him one day.”

Later, Lava and Wave take Natee to their usual beach. While Wave and Natee swim, Lava rests in a duyan away from the shore because of his injury. When Wave gets cramps and is nearly swept away by strong waves, Natee rescues him. Despite his wound, Lava rushes over, worried. He tells Wave, “No outsider can protect you better than I can. So if you’re going somewhere, I need to be there with you,” before gently massaging his leg.

When they get home, Lava admits he’s jealous of Wave spending time with Natee. Wave comforts him, saying,

Even though Natee saved my life today, it can’t compare to you giving me a new one.

Rumors Spread About Peng and Wut’s Relationship; Natee Saves Peng

During movie night at Peng’s resort, Kratae asks Tum where he’d take his crush on a date. Tum admits he can’t afford anything fancy, joking about his “low-budget romance.” Kratae teases him but then softly says, “Maybe one day, I’ll want to try dating you…”

Meanwhile, Peng tells Dr. Wut that people might already know about their relationship, as rumors are spreading around the market and district office. Worried, Peng fears what others might say, but Wut calmly reassures him that it’s better this way—they don’t have to hide anymore, that they should face it together and not run away from it anymore.

The next morning, Peng finds Lava waiting at dawn to join him in casting nets. Lava thanks him for handling the men who picked a fight earlier. On their way, they come across an injured man lying on the road. When Peng tries to help, the man suddenly pulls a gun on him—but Natee appears just in time and shoots the attacker.

Lava found out about Wave being a Prince of Arantha

While everyone initially thought Natee was a threat, since he was first seen in episode 5 as someone sent by the rebels of Arantha, he reveals the truth before leaving the island. He explains that Princess Anya, Prince Davin’s older sister, sent him to check on the prince’s safety. That’s when Peng and Lava discover that Wave is actually Prince Davin, the heir to Arantha’s throne.

Natee explains that the royal family has been imprisoned by rebels and cut off from the outside world. He entrusts Peng and Lava with protecting Wave and keeping his identity a secret until the situation in the palace is resolved, promising to return for him when it’s safe.

After learning the truth, Lava becomes noticeably more polite and gentle toward Wave.
