What Dech Can Do for Mek in Memoir of Rati Episode 8
In the previous episode, Mek experienced hearing problems due to the countless punches he received during the Muay fight. His deliberate loss cost him his hearing—though only temporarily—it still took a toll on him, especially at work.
But Mek never had to face the consequences alone, because Dech was there. Instead of going to class, Dech searched for Mek. He went to the store where Mek works and found him struggling to hear his boss. Without hesitation, Dech stepped in and did all the work himself.
This scene moved me deeply, just thinking that Dech, with his privileged background, didn’t need to lift a finger in life—yet there he was, carrying heavy sacks and buckets of sugar, all to help Mek. In that moment, I truly grasped the sincerity of Dech’s care for him.
It proves that one’s social status—whether high or low—will never be a hindrance to kindness.
Rati Spends Time with Prince Mai
With Thee absent, Prince Mai enters the picture. I could see it in his gaze whenever he looked at Rati—it was filled with adoration, and perhaps, a quiet longing for his attention.
It was Prince Mai’s subtle way of letting Rati know that aside from Thee, he also had him. When Rati was about to go home, Prince Mai asked him to fly a kite with him. With the perfect breeze, Rati enjoyed himself.
In the midst of their time together, Thee appeared. He wanted to be the one to take Rati home, but Prince Mai challenged him to a chess match. Initially, Thee refused, but when he learned that the winner would get to take Rati home, he agreed.
As the two began moving their pawns, Rati stood silently, waiting to see who would win. In the end, it was Thee who held Rati’s hand as they went home.

Rati Finally Embraces Her Mother
The reason Thee was not around was because he was searching for Buaphan. At last, Rati was able to embrace her mother. But their reconciliation revealed another truth Rati never knew.
Buaphan confessed that she was not Rati’s biological mother—as he had always believed. It was actually Buaphen, Buaphan’s sister. Not long after giving birth to Rati, Buaphen passed away, and Buaphan decided to raise Rati as her own.
Despite learning the truth, Rati still calls Buaphan his mother, saying that he’s glad to have her in this lifetime. Rati expressed his gratitude to Thee for helping him find her.
While they were eating, Thee asked Buaphan to consider him as her son. Although she was hesitant due to their differences in social status, she eventually accepted him and called him her own.
Was It Casual for Mek and Dech?
After a long day of work, Dech decided to stay the night with Mek. In the quiet of the night, lying on an uncomfortable mattress, Dech made sure Mek would not be left alone.
Even though the heat made him uncomfortable, he never left. That night, Dech and Mek shared their first kiss—short yet filled with longing, as if they had both been waiting for this moment.
Their relationship showed that whether you are a commoner or someone of high position, you are worthy of love. Dech never treated Mek as if he were beneath him, and Mek, though hesitant, embraced the companionship Dech offered.
The night ended with them holding each other in a warm embrace.

The Cozy and Intimate Night of Thee and Rati
Rati and Thee spent the night in Buaphan’s house. After preparing their bed, the two shared a quiet yet comforting silence.
With the night’s chill, their closeness sparked warmth—creating a beautiful moment known only to them. The only witnesses to their love were the night breeze, the sound of distant birds, and the darkness around them.
When morning came, they spent time together in the garden, picking flowers, vegetables, and plants. They were being sweet and affectionate when Buaphan arrived.
I thought she might react negatively, but instead, she held both Rati and Thee’s hands and reminded them to take care of each other.
It was a reassuring and tender moment before episode 8 concluded.
