The Real Identity of Thee Revealed in Memoir of Rati Episode 3

With this revelation, Rati is shaken by Thee’s high position in Siamese society. The scene clearly shows how disappointed—and likely how hurt—Rati feels.

These first few moments have a significant impact on the growing relationship between Rati and Thee. Rati might have perceived a betrayal of the trust he placed in Thee.

Furthermore, in episode 3, Prince Ram offers Rati a position as a professor at the Civil Servants’ School, where he would teach French to the Siamese.

However, Lord Lutin immediately shows his disapproval, saying he cannot leave his son alone. In addition, it is revealed that if Rati accepts the offer, Thee will be the one assigned to supervise him during his stay in Siam.

Thee’s Effort to Reconcile with Rati

With the conflict between Thee and Rati escalating in episode 3, Thee tries to explain himself. Through a letter, he asks Rati to meet him at the same place—the bridge.

Despite his hesitation, Rati agrees to meet Thee. However, his purpose is not reconciliation but rather to cut all ties. In that brief moment, Thee admits he was wrong for lying and refuses to justify his actions.

Still, Thee explains that he only kept the truth because he was afraid Rati would look at him differently. Their social status, after all, is a real obstacle between them.

Standing firm, Rati emphasizes that any relationship between them is impossible—even the idea of friendship is dismissed.

Rati’s Decision to Teach the Siamese

The morning after their confrontation, Thee goes to the French residence where Rati is staying, only to find that Rati and the others have already left Siam.

Without hesitation, Thee runs as fast as he can to catch up with Rati. When he arrives at the port, he learns that Rati has decided to stay and accept the teaching position. Despite the tension between them, Thee is clearly happy with Rati’s choice.

Rati’s First Day as a Professor for the Siamese

Soon after, Rati begins teaching French to Siamese officials. Among his students are his uncle, his cousin, and several high-ranking officials of Siam—including Thee himself.

Throughout Rati’s lesson, his uncle continuously interrupts him, showing clear disdain for Rati as the adopted son of Lady Rung and Lord Lutin. In the heat of the moment, Prince Mai, one of the officials, steps in to stop Rati’s uncle from causing further disruption.

Dech Recognizes Mek as His Opponent in Muay Tab Chak

After class is dismissed, Dech tries to slip out of the room unnoticed. While escaping, he bumps into Mek, who is currently working at the school as a servant.

To get away quickly, Dech hops into Mek’s rickshaw and asks to be taken home. During the ride, Dech can’t help but ask Mek a few questions. Mek, on the other hand, explains how lucky Dech is—he gets to study, live comfortably, and have everything he wants without having to work day and night.

Mek also emphasizes that even though he wants to study and learn, he has no opportunity. That’s why he urges Dech to be more grateful for what he has, since others struggle just to make ends meet.

When they arrive at Dech’s house, Dech suddenly realizes that Mek was the one he fought in the Muay Tab Chak match. Mek tries to deny it, but Dech is convinced it was him. Before heading inside, Dech gives Mek some money and tells him to buy proper medicine instead of chewing garlic cloves.

Thee shows his care by telling Rati that he can’t choose whom he has feelings for—and that he’s willing to do whatever it takes to earn another chance. He assures Rati that he will prove both his sincerity and his intentions.
