Peem’s Promise in Khemjira Episode 2
Episode 2 of Khemjira begins with a flashback of Sek, Peem’s grandfather, performing an incantation to protect and save young Khem. Sek made it clear to Peem that everyone’s karma will eventually lead to death.
He added that when the time comes before Khem turns 21, he would already be dead and unable to help him. Thus, Peem promised that he would be the one to do so. However, Peem was warned by his grandfather never to interfere with anyone’s karma.
Sek knew black magic and had done things he shouldn’t have. Meanwhile, Peem practiced white magic, and so he promised his grandfather that he would not create chaos with anyone’s karma.
This explains why Peem doesn’t want to help Khemjira with his karma—despite Jet’s involvement in the situation.
Peem Meets Ramphueng, the Ghost Lady Who Haunts Khem
Back in the present, Khem and his followers, who also know magic, helped him create a seal in his house. This protected them from ghosts barging in.
Peem also met Ramphueng, the ghost lady who wants to kill Khem. He asked her to let Khem go, but she refused. Ramphueng even offered to spare the others if they gave up Khem’s body.
Despite Peem’s attempt to convince Ramphueng, he failed. He then performed an incantation, invoking deities, Buddhas, and divine beings to help them.
After his chant, a bright light appeared, making the ghosts surrounding the seal disappear—much to Ramphueng’s displeasure.
Khem’s Effort to Convince Peem
Despite Peem’s refusal to help, Khem still tried to win him over. With Jet’s support, they began softening Peem’s heart.
Khem cooked for Peem, and though Peem acted indifferent, he still finished the meal. When the chance came, Khem once again begged for help, but Peem stood firm in his decision.
Later, Khem befriended Charn and introduced him to Jet. However, there seemed to be tension between Jet and Charn as they bickered endlessly. While Charn and Khem bonded, Jet grew wary of him.
In addition, Jet, Khem, and Charn tried visiting Worn after hearing he was physically abusing his wife. This worried Khem, but Jet warned him not to get involved.
A Sneak Peek into Pawat’s Past
Though brief, this flashback shed light on the deeper story of Khemjira. The scene shifted to Phra Nakhon in 1939, where Pawat—who looked exactly like Peem—met Khemmika, a girl resembling Khemjira.
After this short encounter, the episode returned to the present.
The glimpse into the past raises many questions: Who are Pawat and Khemmika? Are they tied to Khemjira’s karma? Could Pawat and Peem actually be the same person?
Peem Helps Khem, Jet, and the Villagers
Charn tried to uncover the truth about Rae and Worn’s issue with Uncle Chai’s help. But things escalated when Worn got angry and attacked Rae again.
A voice kept whispering, “Kill him.” Before Worn could act, Uncle Chai and Charn tried to intervene. However, the voice turned out to be a ghost that ended up possessing Rae.
Charn quickly called Khem and Jet, who rushed over. On the way, they got trapped in a looping path, and ghosts began strangling them. Jet was nearly captured, too.
Peem then awakened Jet’s ability to see ghosts, enabling him to fight them off. With his powers, Peem saved Worn and the others from the spirit that had possessed Rae.
Afterward, Peem asked Khem to come with him. On the road, Khem questioned why Peem would help Rae and Worn but not him. Feeling like an outsider, Khem vowed to prove himself worthy of Peem’s help.
Just before the episode ended, Chayos—the ghost who followed Khem without causing harm—appeared to Peem. His words before fading were chilling: “Long time no see, Wat.”
