Khemjira, the first-ever main lead series of Keng Harit and Namping Napatsakorn, premiered its first episode with spine-chilling scenes.
The debut episode of Khemjira dropped on August 9, 2025, on iQIYI, unfolding the tale of Khem and his desperate search for help from Master Peem. Haunted by terrifying ghosts, Khem finds refuge in Peem’s home.
Khemjira features a star-studded cast from DOMUNDI, led by Keng Harit as Peem and Namping Napatsakorn as Khemjira, with Tle Matimun as Chan and FirstOne Wannakorn as Jet. The ensemble also includes Green Ausadaporn as Ramphueng, Pung Phirunwat as Chayos, Janis Janistar as Khemmika, and Patji Jirachart as Pharan.
The series tells the story of Khem, a young man born into a cursed family where every male who reaches the age of twenty dies, while the daughters remain safe. To protect him, his parents gave him a girl’s name—Khemjira, meaning “forever safe.” For years, Khem believed he was spared—until the ghosts began to appear. His friend Jet then introduced him to Peem, a shaman well-versed in incantations and curses.
As Khem faces life-threatening supernatural dangers, the question remains—can Peem save him from the deadly curse?

Khemjira’s Curse in Khemjira Episode 1
Episode 1 of Khemjira kicked off with Khem running from the ghosts surrounding him. The silent whispers, chilling touches of wind, and shadows passing by made him curl up in fear. This first episode isn’t for the faint of heart—especially if you watch it at night.
Khem tried to escape the ghost chasing him but failed. When it caught him, he nearly died from choking. The scene then flashes back to Khem’s childhood, where he first discovered the curse in his family.
Despite the horror, Khem chose not to close his third eye. He reasoned that if his mother died, he would still want to see her. In response, the man who was supposed to seal his sight gave him a necklace to ward off ghosts and taught him basic incantations.

Jet Offers Help to Khem, Gets Warned by Peem
Jet, Khem’s best friend, tries to help him face the ghosts. Although Jet can’t see them, he still does his best. He visits his master, Peem, to ask about Khem’s fate, but Peem warns that Khem only has six months to live.
Peem adds that he does not interfere with anyone’s karma. Jet returns to Khem just in time to save him from a near-death encounter.
As they were about to enter Khem’s room, Khem spotted a ghost banging her head against the door across from his. The next day, he saw the same ghost again.
Curious, Khem entered the room and found a child—locked up and starving. He called the police to help the child. This moment made Khem realize that seeing ghosts might not be entirely a curse.
Khem’s Presence Attracts Ghosts, Saved by Peem’s Light
During a school trip to Udon Ratchathani—Peem’s hometown—the bus passed through a tunnel Peem had warned Jet to avoid. The danger inside revealed itself as a horde of ghosts.
Everyone on the bus fell asleep except for Khem and Jet. As they struggled to ward off the ghosts, a vision of Peem appeared. His light drove the spirits away, and Jet ran toward him—only to realize it was just Peem’s shadow helping them.
When the bus arrived at its destination, they saw Master Peem performing an exorcism. Khem approached to greet him, but when Peem removed his glasses, Khem froze in silence. Peem instructed Jet to hurry and get to his house before nightfall.

Peem Tries to Lure Away the Ghosts That Haunt Khem
When Jet and Khem arrived at Peem’s house, Peem immediately told the ghost following Khem that it wasn’t welcome there. As Khem settled in, Peem again warned Jet not to associate with Khem, but Jet refused, insisting Khem was a good person.
With his colleagues, Peem began crafting an incantation to seal the house. In the midst of their chants, the ghosts haunting Khem began to stir.
A female ghost whispered chillingly, “Are you looking for me?” to Peem—a truly horrifying moment.
As the episode ended, Peem’s face was shown, his expression one of shock and alarm at what he had just seen.

The preview for episode 2 shows Peem asking the female ghost to release Khem, but she refuses. Khem introduces Chan and Jet to each other, and finally, Khem tries to soften Peem’s heart.
