Burnout Syndrome Episode 8 Recap: Koh admits he likes Jira
Koh dreams about his parents, especially his mother, who warns him not to get attached to anyone in business. She says trusting people only brings sickness and betrayal, and the most dangerous people are the ones closest to him. But when he wakes, he gently caresses Jira—already going against that warning.
Later, Jira wakes up and receives a call from Pheem. He continues lying to both Koh and Pheem, avoiding their names and using Ing as his excuse and accomplice again.
Afterward, Koh invites Jira to his childhood home—not for work, but simply because he wants him there. This makes Jira curious about Koh’s true feelings. Koh has been acting contradictory, especially after saying he didn’t like Jira before. When Jira asks, Koh admits he wasn’t telling the truth and that he really likes Jira. The confession leaves Jira completely speechless.
Koh brings Jira to his childhood home in Burnout Syndrome episode 8
Jira visits Koh’s childhood home, the family’s old factory. Koh walks him through each part of the building and shares his plans to renovate it. He asks for Jira’s opinion, saying he wants the space to feel like somewhere Jira would actually want to live, and even invites him to move in. Jira says he needs more time to think it over.
Later, Koh takes Jira into his bedroom and admits that sometimes he can’t sleep and feels like there’s no place he can truly rest—except when Jira is with him. When rain causes a leak in the house, Koh goes to his late parents’ room and talks to his mother’s picture.
He reflects on how he hasn’t been trusting others, as she once said, but confesses that he wants to take a chance with Jira:
When I’m with him, I’m really happy. Maybe it’s because I haven’t been with someone in a long time, and he was there at the right moment, but I just want to take risks with him. I don’t care if someone calls me an idiot or if I end up like Dad. I don’t even know how this will end, but I will accept it regardless.

Koh and Jira share a kiss under the rain in Burnout Syndrome episode 8
Koh comes back to Jira and tries to fix the leaking roof himself in the pouring rain, but Jira follows and stops him, worried about him getting hurt. As they stand close under the rain, emotions overflow, and they share a kiss. Later, drenched, Koh scatters shirts across his bed, saying he wants to sleep like he did as a child, and invites Jira to nap beside him.
Jira, still in the mood, asks Koh what he likes about him aside from work. Koh compliments him, saying he’s pretty, and then asks the same. When Jira admits he likes Koh, Koh teases, touching Jira’s crotch: “Your body is more honest than your words.” The tension escalates as they remove each other’s shirts, kiss again, and it turns into intimacy.
Meanwhile, Mawin talks to Pheem about how attached he is to Jira, telling him that if Jira doesn’t reciprocate his feelings, he should just move on. Pheem, however, says he’s interested in how Jira painted him wrecking in the rage room. Mawin comments that Jira plays with Pheem’s emotions, to which Pheem replies that he lets him.
Jira flirts with Koh as he works
That night, Koh and Jira return home. Koh invites him to drink and dance, flirting to set the mood. He sings the same song they heard at the bar when Jira passed out, slowly loosening him up and making him emotionally open.
Tipsy, Jira admits, “I’m not someone who lets people do whatever they want with me, but I let you because you’re hot.” Koh asks if Jira will ever leave him. Jira says he would if he’d had enough, assuming Koh could just replace him. Koh reassures him that no one could replace him and, after everything they’ve shared, they should just start dating. Jira falls asleep before they can talk more, so Koh gently carries him to his room and kisses his cheek, wishing him a good rest.
Later, Jira wakes wearing Koh’s shirt and finds him busy with his work. Despite Koh warning him that he might ruin the delicate pieces, Jira approaches him, and their intimacy escalates as Koh pushes his work aside to focus on Jira.
The next morning, Jira receives a message from Pheem arranging a meetup. He also notices traces of the painting he left the night before, realizing he already knows who he is choosing between—Pheem or Koh.
