Typhoon Enters University in Beside the Sky Episode 3
Beside the Sky episode 3 opens with Phoon writing to Fun about his decision to hurt Fah so he could keep his father. Even though he did that, he knew he would always love Fah. Later, Phoon attended his first day of university classes. While looking around, he caught someone’s attention and introduced himself. He learned that the other person’s name was Easter, or Ter for short.
Since they were both freshmen, the two got along easily. Ter introduced Phoon to his roommate, North. The three became friends almost instantly. Later that night, Phoon wrote to Fun again, saying that university life was somehow fun. He met good people, but sometimes he felt like fate was playing tricks on him.
Since Phoon was not good with directions and often got lost, his friends usually picked him up. This time, he got lost again with Foam, his classmate. Instead of his friends, Fah showed up.
Easter was Hill’s boyfriend, and Hill was Fah’s friend. Because of that, Typhoon often bumped into Tonfah. On top of that, North was also in a relationship with Johan, who happened to be Fah’s friend. Whenever Typhoon and his friends went out or studied, Fah was usually there as well—with Hill, Johan, and Arthit.
Gifts from Phoon’s Mother
Elsewhere in Beside the Sky episode 3, Typhoon received a call from Auntie Nuan, informing him about their house in Phuket. Now that it had been sold, Typhoon needed to retrieve his belongings.
Before going to the house, Typhoon visited Fun’s tombstone with Auntie Nuan. Typhoon still longed for Fun, but Auntie Nuan told him that he needed to move on and live his life. Phoon talked to Fun, telling her that he often dreamed of her.
He said that in those dreams, Fun always came to see him. Phoon asked if he would be selfish if he asked Fun to stay. Auntie Nuan consoled Phoon as he cried in front of his sister’s grave.
Soon after, Phoon and Auntie Nuan went to the house. Auntie Nuan asked Phoon what to do with Fun’s belongings. He told her to donate them to an orphanage, saying that it would have been Fun’s wish. Auntie Nuan then confessed that Fun had long known they were not full siblings—that Phoon had a different mother. Despite that, Fun never saw him differently. Instead, she loved Phoon even more.
While looking around the house, Auntie Nuan approached Phoon with a box. She said it contained gifts from his mother, which delighted Phoon. Auntie Nuan revealed that even though Phoon’s father and Fun’s mother ordered her to throw them away, she hid them instead.
This made Phoon believe that his mother never abandoned him. It became proof that, in her own way, his mother loved him.

“Long Time No See”
Phoon received a call from Ter, asking him to join a dinner party. Phoon asked who would be there, and Ter said Hill and his friends. Although hesitant, Typhoon agreed. Ter told him that he would pick him up with Hill. Elsewhere, Fah’s friends also invited him to the same dinner. Fah declined, saying that he was busy.
While the group was eating, Arthit asked where Fah was. Hill said that Fah was busy. Just then, Johan noticed Fah walking toward their table and asked why he was there after saying he was busy. Fah replied that he felt like being free for once. He then looked at Phoon and said, “Long time no see.”
Fah asked Arthit to switch seats with Johan. It was subtle, especially since Arthit had been sitting in front of Typhoon. While eating, North and Ter playfully argued as Phoon watched them. Fah took the chance to place some peeled shrimp on Phoon’s plate.
After dinner, Ter went to Typhoon to ask him something, but he could not finish his sentence. North stepped in and asked what was going on between Phoon and Fah. Phoon said it was a long story, and Ter and North said they were willing to listen. Phoon was about to tell them when the others arrived, so he stopped.
Typhoon’s Friends—His New Home
The next morning, Phoon woke up to constant knocking. When he opened the door, he saw Ter, North, and Dao waiting outside. They came because they wanted to hear the story about Phoon and Fah.
At first, Phoon hesitated. The group assured him that they would wait if he was not ready. Phoon asked them not to hate him once he told his story. They gently promised that they would not.
After hearing everything, North said that he felt angry at Phoon’s father. Phoon thanked him for being angry on his behalf. North said that not everyone was ready to be a parent and praised Phoon for being strong enough to endure everything he went through while still being able to smile.
Elsewhere in Beside the Sky episode 3, Ter could not stop himself from crying after hearing Phoon’s story. North noticed Fun’s picture and asked about her. He then came up with an idea to make Phoon smile. North placed his photo alongside Ter’s and Dao’s on Phoon’s table so he would not feel alone.
Phoon admitted that even though he distanced himself from Fah, he still wanted to be there for him. North then came up with a plan to help him.

The Letters Sent to Fah in Beside the Sky Episode 3
North and the others helped Phoon send food and letters to Fah. The first letter said, “I really, really like you. So much.” The group tried to be discreet, but their playful nature almost got them caught by Arthit.
When Arthit found the gift, he opened it and ate the food. Dao saw this and asked North who he was. North said that Arthit had a bad attitude. Elsewhere, Arthit handed the gift to Fah. Fah only took the letter and read it. He smiled while reading it, unaware of who sent it.
The next day, North asked someone else to deliver another gift from Phoon. Since Fah did not respond, Phoon started thinking that maybe Fah did not care. His friends cheered him up, reminding him that this kind of thing required consistency.
Later, Phoon wrote to Fun again:
With them around, even heavy things feel lighter. I feel like you gave me a special blessing, Fun. Since having friends, I no longer feel abandoned. Don’t worry, Fun. I’m stronger now. I have the courage to follow my own feelings.
As Beside the Sky episode 3 ends, North waits for Phoon to receive something. It turns out to be chocolate milk from Fah with a letter that reads, “Chocolate milk and sandwiches really are delicious.”

On Fah’s birthday, Phoon personally gives him a present. When Fah sees the handwriting on Phoon’s photo and compares it to the admirer’s letters, he seems to realize something.
