The finale episode of Beside the Sky aired on January 31 as a fast-track episode via WeTV. The series ended with Phoon getting into his dream program, meeting his mother, and surrounding himself with good friends. He now has a loving boyfriend and a home that gives him peace and a safe space.

Did Typhoon Meet His Biological Mother in Beside the Sky?
Yes. In the finale of the series, Tonfah gathered information about Phoon’s mother, including her address in Japan, where Phoon sent a letter.
Although it took a long time for his mother to reply, Phoon felt happy when she finally sent a letter back. Phoon and Fah then traveled to Japan to meet her.
Phoon resembles his mother so much. He also met his little brother and spent time with him. Phoon told his mother that he did not resent her—he was simply grateful that he finally got to meet her.
Did Typhoon Get Accepted into Photography?
Typhoon did get accepted into the photography program. Together with his friends, he checked the results and found out that he passed.
Aside from that, his friends became sentimental during the finale. They expressed their gratitude for always having each other’s backs. The group would not feel complete without every one of them.
Typhoon was truly lucky to meet Dao, Ter, and North. They became his light and his home for a long time.

What Did Fah Give for Phoon’s Birthday?
Typhoon’s birthday approached, and Fah’s friends and their boyfriends prepared Phoon’s gifts. As for Fah, he once noticed Phoon eyeing a camera but choosing not to buy it.
So for Phoon’s birthday, Fah bought him that camera. Fah also gave him a letter, which made Phoon smile even more.
What Happened in the Finale of Beside the Sky?
Basically, the ending of Beside the Sky gave fans and viewers what they hoped for Typhoon—a happy and fulfilling life. The finale showed that even a rough life can still turn into a good one if you wait and keep going.
Typhoon, despite suffering through a harsh life, still met good people who made everything bearable. During this episode, Phoon wrote a letter—but this time, he did not write it for someone else. Instead, he wrote it for himself.
Thank you for believing in love, enough to realize just how deeply you’re capable of loving someone.
It was a good ending—a perfect one. Typhoon deserves a life free from violence, guilt, and blame. Tonfah and his friends gave him so much love that he slowly learned to love himself as well.
Beside the Sky is not just a series. It reminds viewers that life can feel ruthless and completely unfair, but at some point, it will get better. You just need to meet good people and discover yourself along the way.
