The first-ever omegaverse in BL drama produced in China has wrapped its 16-episode run. Hua Yong, Sheng Shaoyou, Gao Tu, and Shen Wenlang’s story has come to an end.
ABO Desire, another Chinese BL series, captured viewers with its fresh take on the omegaverse genre. The series premiered on July 12, 2025, and wrapped up on October 11 with a total of 16 episodes.
Starring Huang Xing as Hua Yong, Qiu Dingjie as Sheng Shaoyou, Li Peien as Gao Tu, and Jiang Heng as Shen Wenlang.
The series followed Hua Yong, an enigma, who pretended to be an omega to make his long-time love interest, Sheng Shaoyou, fall in love with him. Shaoyou thought he had already found exactly his type, but it turns out he was being manipulated all this time.
Meanwhile, Shen Wenlang, an S-class alpha, had been friends with Gao Tu, an omega. But all this time, Shen Wenlang thought he was a beta. How will he uncover the truth behind his best friend’s real identity?

The Person Behind X Holdings in ABO Desire Final Episode
After the proposal of the anonymous boss of X Holdings to Sheng Shaoyou, his father summoned him to the hospital. He asked about his relationship with Hua Yong and Shaoyou’s thoughts about the boss of X Holdings. But Shaoyou refused to answer his father.
Instead, he began condemning him for the multiple affairs he had, which caused pain to his mother. This led his father to suggest that Shaoyou marry both Hua Yong and the boss of X Holdings, which he firmly refused to do.
Hua Yong, on the other hand, was also called in by Shaoyou’s father the next day. This was to let Hua Yong know that Shaoyou’s father preferred the boss of X Holdings over him because of his low profile. But to Shaoyou’s father’s surprise, Hua Yong and the anonymous CEO of X Holdings were actually the same person. This resulted in him allowing the two to get married.

Shen Wenlang and His Ways to Find Gao Tu
In desperation to see Gao Tu again, Shen Wenlang asked Gao’s father for help. Gao’s father thought that when Shen Wenlang learned that Gao Tu was pregnant with his baby, he’d become rich in an instant. This prompted him to lure Gao Tu into meeting Wenlang.
Gao Tu, unaware of his father’s real motive, accepted his offer for a meal. However, when they arrived at the hospital, he saw Wenlang waiting for him. Right after sitting at the table, Gao’s father blurted out that Gao Tu was pregnant—and not only that, he added that it was Shen Wenlang’s child.
Gao’s father said that if Wenlang gave them money, Gao Tu would abort the baby. This led to Wenlang accusing Gao of using his trust. Gao excused himself and went to the bathroom to escape.
Sheng Shaoyou, Hua Yong, and Their Baby Peanut
Shaoyou, being an S-class alpha, had a hard time bearing their child. He was brought to the hospital because of excessive blood loss. Hua Yong, on the other hand, called Wenlang to tell him that if anything happened, he would be the one to take care of Peanut. If Shaoyou died while giving birth, Hua Yong would follow him.
But as the scene continues, years pass, and it flashes to Shaoyou giving birth to a healthy baby boy—Peanut. Their baby resembles Shaoyou but has the hostile character of Hua Yong. There’s no doubt that Peanut’s blood came from him.

Wenlang and Gao Tu Meet Again After Years
After Gao Tu disappeared without a trace, Wenlang went mad—almost losing his sanity. Even with power and money, he couldn’t find Gao Tu anywhere. Due to his stress and anxiety, Wenlang’s rut always came early.
Like what Hua Yong said, their misunderstanding had grown bigger. This was the result of Wenlang’s inability to understand things on a bigger scale. Now, he has lost Gao Tu and his child.
Years passed, and in the most unexpected way, Wenlang’s eyes once again landed on Gao Tu’s existence. While he was looking for Peanut, he saw Gao Tu with his child. Wenlang didn’t waste a second and came to Gao Tu to hug him.
Desperation and longing were evident in Wenlang’s eyes—as if he finally saw a piece of himself that he had lost long ago.
ABO Desire Ending Explained and Review
ABO Desire’s ending felt incomplete or somehow rushed. Although it gives a happy ending to both couples—Yong and Shaoyou having Peanut, and Wenlang and Gao Tu seeing each other again—it feels like the kind of ending viewers had anticipated.
With Hua Yong and Shaoyou’s ending, I’m quite satisfied with how the two ended. It’s exactly how Yong had pictured it out since the beginning: building a life with his long-time love interest, marrying him, and having a child with him.
But with Gao Tu and Wenlang, who absolutely made this series more interesting, I find their ending a bit off. Their screen time appeared so short, not giving justice to the years they spent apart. Though I understand they’re not the main couple in this story, their love affair grew even more compelling for some viewers (including me).
Yet despite the slight dissatisfaction, ABO Desire undoubtedly stands out as a high-quality BL drama—especially since it has become the first-ever omegaverse produced in China, a country known for extreme censorship in BL films.
ABO Desire is one of those series you can’t easily forget because of what it brought to the table for BL enthusiasts.
