Behind the Scene with Bada Lee: The Dance Floor Baddie

You may have seen many striking dance covers for the #SmokeChallenge, but let’s learn more about the mastermind of this hot topic dance choreography, BADA LEE!

Bada Lee has prominently been part of the K-pop industry as a dancer and choreographer for groups like NCT, BLACKPINK, EXO, etc. Following her works for such dance routines, she had been the talk of the town for her viral dance challenge, “Smoke”.

The song “Smoke” by Dynamic Duo featuring rapper Lee Young Ji was released on September 5 as a dance choreography challenge for the Mnet show, Street Woman Fighter 2.

Her choreography for “Smoke” has taken over the dancing scene more than any other has expected. It instantly became a hit that K-pop idols also hopped on the trend. The long list includes BTS’ V and Jungkook, SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi and DK, NCT’s Taeyong, and ATEEZ’s San.

The 27-year-old dancer started her career in 2015 when she joined Girin Jang’s Seouldance Studio group, CUPCAKE.

Today, Bada is a resident dancer at JustJerk Academy; the dance studio was founded by Street Man Fighter Team, JustJerk.

Bada Lee as a Choreographer

Bada’s famous choreographies were “Next Level” for Aespa, and NCT U’s “90’s Love”. Her career peaked as she also joined as a backup dancer for Lisa of BLACKPINK, CL of 2NE1, and more popularly, EXO’s Kai in his solo tracks “Rover” and “Vanilla”, which she posted on her Instagram account and has over one million likes. 

Indeed, Bada had become a jack of all trades as she worked with multiple Korean pop agencies, including SM Entertainment. Her skills for dancing in every genre, mainly Urban, had many left in awe. She already had a significant number of followers and an international range of fanbase. 

Meanwhile, Bada appears on the second season of Mnet’s Street Woman Fighter with her team, BEBE. The program is now on its Mega Crew mission wherein each team has to present a spectacular performance with a huge group of dancers.
