GEHLEE trades the K-pop stage for a romantic pop debut under Universal Records Philippines.
Former UNIS member Gehlee Dangca, now professionally known as GEHLEE, is starting her solo era with “Closer.” It is a surprise digital single set to drop under Universal Records Philippines on Friday, October 23, 2026.
The romantic pop track is about the thrilling uncertainty of wanting to get closer to someone you secretly admire. It is her first project with the label since she returned to the Philippines after her time with UNIS. She announced the release on Instagram, and pre-saves are open.
The official music video premieres the same day on the Universal Records Philippines YouTube channel. It shows GEHLEE in a range of fashionable looks that highlight her charisma and style as a “Global Filipina” artist at the start of her solo journey.
The single follows a path that began on a global stage. GEHLEE first drew international attention through Universe Ticket, the survival program that formed UNIS, after SBS approached Universal Records Philippines to scout Filipino talent. She was called to fill the fourth debut spot among the eight members. UNIS debuted in 2024.
GEHLEE returned to the Philippines on September 29 to finish school and pursue opportunities in music and entertainment. She remains with Universal Records Philippines, while GLXY Talent Management and Star Horizon TV Production oversee her management locally. Both supported her career before her move to Korea.
Further details about her upcoming musical plans have yet to be announced. For now, “Closer” is a short, sweet introduction, and an invitation for listeners to take that first step with her.
