grentperez releases “close to you” with UMI, blending dreamy sounds and introspective themes of love, spirituality, and meaningful connections.
Breakout artist grentperez teams up with singer-songwriter UMI for “Close To You,” a dreamy collaboration about love, spirituality, and the connections that unite us. Through their thoughtful lyrics and shared perspectives, the two artists explore how love influences our emotions, shapes our relationships, and changes the way we see the world.
At its core, “Close To You” explores love as more than a simple feeling. Instead, the song presents it as an energy that influences how we see the world and connect with others.
Through this single, grentperez reflects on the forces behind his emotions and decisions. Meanwhile, UMI’s approach to spirituality and self-discovery makes her a natural fit for the collaboration, bringing their shared perspectives together.
Their musical connection began earlier this year when they met at a college show. As a longtime fan of UMI, grentperez took the opportunity to introduce himself and suggest a studio session. Just a month later, they reunited with producer MarcLo to bring “Close To You” to life.
Their natural chemistry made the process feel fun and effortless, allowing both artists to exchange jokes and reflect on life as they worked together.
Finding Love Beyond Ourselves
Beyond its dreamy sound, “Close To You” highlights the importance of recognizing the connections that exist beyond our individual experiences. Through their shared perspective, grentperez and UMI encourage listeners to consider how the world around them influences their feelings and relationships.
Ultimately, the collaboration brings together two artists whose openness and emotional awareness complement each other. With “Close To You,” grentperez and UMI offer a gentle reminder that love can shape our lives in unexpected ways. More importantly, it invites listeners to appreciate the connections that unite us and remain open to the world beyond ourselves.
