GENERATIONS has a new single titled “VIBE” to mark the beginning of their 15th anniversary year, but also mark the trajectory of the years to come.
Six-member dance and vocal group GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE (Alan Shirahama, Ryota Katayose, Ryuto Kazuhara, Hayato Komori, Reo Sano and Yuta Nakatsuka) is back with new song VIBE. This follows their last album 6IX PIECE, but also in preparation for their 15th anniversary year.
Ten years ago, the group released AGEHA, and now they’ve built a track to stand next to it. “VIBE” is not meant to replace or repeat the former track, but to prove that the group can still go toe-to-toe with their own legacy.
The song was digitally released on September 28, 2026. But there will also be CD single release on October 28, 2026. It will be the group’s first CD single in four years. The EDM-driven dance track comes from member Alan Shirahama working with rising songwriter TET$V and producer Kanata Okajima.
The hook is fast and propulsive, designed to lodge itself in your brain immediately. It also includes a deliberate “confrontation” with the group’s previous discography. “VIBE” leans directly into that by consciously echoing AGEHA.
The music video kept every member in live-action, but the background and environment was made by using generative AI. This is to create a world that simply wasn’t possible during the release of AGEHA a decade ago. The video also leans into the group’s dance strength early on, before shifting to a MV-specific choreography.
GENERATIONS’ 15th anniversary year
The song arrives just in time before the group’s 15th anniversary year in November. Alan Shirahama laid out what went into the process of the song:
‘VIBE’ really makes the most of what GENERATIONS is capable of. In the 2010s, LDH was always tied to this kind of sound. It’s something only GENERATIONS, and only LDH, can really pull off, and over time I think it’s stopped being ‘the sound of that era’ and become something closer to a sound that’s genuinely ours, one with lasting value. But we didn’t just want to repeat it, we packed in things that still feel fresh inside that same DNA.

According to the group, the song’s line “this is where the good part starts” is both a declaration and a challenge. “VIBE” isn’t an aggressive track, but according to Shirahama there’s a sense of ease that comes from having grown up. Nevertheless, the group also built in moments where the audience can shout along with them live.
This is a song that could only exist because every member trusts the skill and potential we’ve all built up across our careers.
The response of the fans to the song since its release in September has been loud. On the same day, the six members joined a LINE live stream to mark the occasion, trading stories about VIBE-themed topics.
For their 5th anniversary year in November, GENERATIONS isn’t just looking back. They’re busy staking a claim on where their sound goes next, with “VIBE” is the beginning of a bigger year still to come.
