P-Pop takes over Araneta City with a free-admission fan event featuring special performances, fun games, and up-close opportunities to meet rising P-Pop stars.
On September 27, P-Pop fans, media friends, and rising idols gathered at Farmer’s Plaza in Araneta City for the 11th PPOP Music Awards Meet and Greet, bringing the P-Pop community together ahead of the highly anticipated awards night. Presented by Noble Life International, with the support of IME Philippines and Araneta City as the official event venue.
The PPOP Music Awards, also known as the Philippine Popular Music Awards, is an annual event that celebrates and honors the country’s greatest music, culture, and homegrown talents through a dedicated celebration of Filipino Pop.
A Glimpse Into the P-Pop Celebration
Additionally, some of the emerging P-Pop acts showcase what to expect in the upcoming awards show performances. The meet and greet was hosted by Miguel Salamat, a former member of P-Pop pioneer group FAB4Z

Opening the meet and greet stage, last year’s P-Pop Potential awardees NEO showcased their vocal prowess with an emotional performance of their song “Tanto.” Meanwhile, 6ENSE brought an energetic atmosphere to the stage with their latest single “Piliin Mo Ako.” The P-Pop group also teased a special collaboration to look forward to during their performance at the upcoming awards show.
Moreover, the self-produced group SYNC delivered an upbeat stage of their song “Knock Out,” captivating the audience with their high notes and dynamic stage presence. The group was among last year’s P-Pop Spotlight Awards recipients, alongside CLOUD7 and MNL48. Representing the south, Cultural Excellence Awardee, One South brought the rich sounds and traditions of Mindanao ethnic culture to the stage with their performance of “Galak.”
Meanwhile, soloist AJ Colico serenaded the crowd with his rendition of “Nandito Ako,” followed by his original song “Hi! Hello!” Meanwhile, Dylan Burton charmed the audience with performances of “Hindi Pala Ako” and “Pwede Ka Bang Mahalin,” even inviting a fan onstage to dance with him. The Be The NEXT: 9 Dreamers finalists also represented the Philippines last March at the Topklout 10th K-World Influencer Summit held in Beihai, China.
The Constant Rise of PPOP
The P-Pop music scene has been emerging through the years, establishing a distinct sound and identity while making its presence felt in the international music market.
During the media conference, Pop Journal was given a chance to ask the emerging P-Pop acts what they considered to be the biggest milestone that truly put P-Pop on the global map over the past year.
SYNC and NEO highlighted that the industry has remained consistent in bringing something new in the global music scene. They pointed to the recent international appearances of BINI at Coachella and SB19 at Lollapalooza alongside the participation of P-Pop groups in Summer Sonic in Tokyo and Osaka, as notable milestones for the genre.
Reflecting on the achievements of their P-Pop seniors, Clyn of SYNC emphasized the importance of establishing their own identity while contributing to the continued growth of the local scene. Clyn shared,
“Kasi tulad po nila (P-pop seniors), mayroon na po silang mga napatunayan and ipinakita kung ano yung uniqueness po nila, and sa’min, syempre, gusto rin namin makagawa ng sariling path namin na makakatulong sa paglago ng P-Pop.”
