Apollo Liberace unveils “Smashin,” a retro-futuristic R&B track backed by a bold visual as the single climbs radio charts across the country.
R&B trailblazer Apollo Liberace has released the new music video for “Smashin,” his latest single that currently ranks as the #1 most-added song on R&B radio in the country.

The track blends spacious electronic textures, steady percussion, and a driving bassline. Together, these elements create a late-night atmosphere that matches Apollo’s flirtatious delivery. Meanwhile, the visual pushes that mood into a retro-futuristic world.
Apollo Liberace Enters a Retro-Futuristic World
For “Smashin,” Apollo moves between the past, future, and an otherworldly dimension. The video uses gritty textures inspired by old Japanese television. It also follows Apollo through a city in a camo jacket before shifting to a spaceship water capsule, where he relaxes behind oversized white shades.
Elsewhere, rooftop dancers perform beneath security cameras. Bold red Japanese lettering also appears before triggering dramatic volcanic eruptions. As a result, the visual mirrors the song’s sensual and unpredictable energy.
Apollo’s international upbringing helped shape his genre-fluid identity. He grew up between Maryland, San Antonio, Japan, and South Korea. Moreover, he started performing at 10 and later opened for Lloyd Banks overseas before his teens.
From Early Performances to Absolute Cinema
Apollo joined Minus Gravity before signing with Capitol Records in 2019. He later launched his solo career and earned more than a million views for “Paradise.” He also appeared on MTV and Paramount’s West Coast Hustle, toured for 30 dates with Tyla Yaweh, and performed for roughly 20,000 people while opening for Lil Wayne.
In addition, Apollo recently completed a seven-city Japan tour. “Smashin” now sits in the Top 40 on U.S. R&B radio and will appear on his forthcoming album, Absolute Cinema. Rance Dopson of 1500 or Nothin’ serves as executive producer.
Drawing from influences such as Prince, Michael Jackson, Frank Ocean, and Liberace, Apollo continues to combine R&B, hip-hop, futuristic funk, and visual art. With “Smashin,” he expands that universe while introducing another chapter of his evolving sound.
Fans can stream “Smashin” now and dive into Apollo Liberace’s latest chapter of futuristic R&B, sensual energy, and cinematic world-building.
