Rex Orange County gives fans a taste of Dream Fatigue with “Grandma Song,” following “Indecision” featuring Daniel Caesar before the album arrives November 6.
Multi-platinum singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Rex Orange County announces his forthcoming album, Dream Fatigue, arriving November 6. Alongside the announcement, he shares “Grandma Song,” the second single from the upcoming record. It follows a global photobooth treasure hunt that gave fans clues about the album while teasing snippets of unreleased music.

Co-executive produced by Mustafa and Dylan Wiggins, Dream Fatigue features an impressive circle of collaborators. Turnstile’s Brendan Yates, Dev Hynes, Daniel Caesar, Mustafa, dexter in the newsagent, and Taylor Skye of Jockstrap all contribute to the album.
For Rex Orange County, however, the collaboration means more than simply bringing other artists into the studio. Instead, it represents a shift from the more reclusive approach he took on previous projects. “To let people in is to let them take the thing out of you as well,” he explains.
Meanwhile, “Grandma Song” continues the emotional directness that has defined his music throughout his career. The track arrives with a lyric video featuring the artist against a sweeping fireworks display in Montana. Alongside “Indecision” featuring Daniel Caesar, it offers another glimpse into the sound and emotional world of Dream Fatigue.
Taking Dream Fatigue on the Road
The connection between Rex Orange County’s past and present music has also shaped his recent live shows. This summer, he brought his catalogue to intimate fan house shows across the UK, Ireland, and Southeast Asia. Fans even created their own setlists from nearly a decade of music.
In Southeast Asia, the shows sparked major fan excitement in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Manila, and Jakarta. He also performed at LaLaLa Festival in Manila and Jakarta. At the same time, Rex Orange County developed Dream Fatigue while constantly on the move. He wrote songs across New York, Toronto, Rome, Egypt, Ethiopia, and Los Angeles, often working with little more than a laptop, portable speakers, and a guitar.
That stripped-back process shaped the album’s 12 tracks, with Dream Fatigue following a protagonist who adopts different personas to win over the woman he loves. Ultimately, the album brings Rex Orange County back to the heart of his music through intimate storytelling, memorable melodies, and emotionally direct songwriting.
