Ki! returns with “Sakina,” a cinematic instrumental single inspired by global sounds and his emotional journey back to his birthplace, South Korea.
Danish-Korean artist Ki! (Christian Ki Dall) returns with “Sakina,” a new instrumental single arriving on August 13, 2026 via Crunchy Frog Recordings. The release offers the first taste of his upcoming album while showcasing his signature blend of cinematic storytelling and global musical influences.

Driven by afrobeat-inspired guitars, soaring mariachi trumpet solos, vibrant percussion, and lush orchestral arrangements, “Sakina” takes listeners on a psychedelic journey that draws inspiration from cultures around the world.
Peace Through Music by Ki!
For Ki!, the song represents more than an instrumental composition. He explains:
“Sakina” means peace transformed into a dancing female being. With her dancing, she calms everything and everyone.
Moreover, the track reflects his adventurous approach to music. Cinematic chord progressions meet Middle Eastern-inspired guitar melodies, while brass arrangements and layered percussion create an energetic, immersive soundscape.
In addition, the production nods to vintage spy films, 1970s cult cinema, and Bollywood-inspired psychedelia, resulting in a style that is both nostalgic and refreshingly original.
A Journey Back to His Roots
The release follows a milestone in Ki!’s personal life. Born in Busan, South Korea, and adopted by a Danish family as an infant, the musician returned to his birthplace for the first time in 2026.
During the trip, Ki! starred alongside acclaimed actor Park Bo-gum in the Korea Tourism Organization’s global campaign film, “Begin to Hear Korea.” Meanwhile, his month-long journey allowed him to reconnect with the country’s people, landscapes, and culture.
Furthermore, the experience shaped the creative direction of his forthcoming album. Those discoveries also became a major influence on “Sakina” and its visual companion.
Cross-Cultural Visual Story
The music video for “Sakina” was filmed in Seoul through a collaboration between Korean director Gun Kim and Danish filmmaker Tine Reingaard Solkær. They created a visual narrative that reflects Ki!’s multicultural identity.
By combining his Danish upbringing with his Korean heritage, the video mirrors the song’s genre-blending sound. As a result, “Sakina” introduces a new chapter for Ki! while offering a vibrant preview of the artistic vision behind his next album.
