On July 25, 2026, the singer-songwriter, actor, and dancer marked his 10th year in the entertainment industry with WRten by Wilbert Ross, his 1st major solo cncert at New Frontier Theater.
He rose to fame as a member of It’s Showtime’s dance group, Hashtags, leading him to more opportunities. During one of his ment, Ross expresses appreciation to his group. The noontime show plays a vital role in what he has achieved now.
Two years after leaving Hashtags, Wilbert Ross began his solo career as a recording artist. He did so under Star Music. The music video for his debut single, “Maaari ba,” featuring Zeinab Harake, received over a million views. Ross pursued acting. He earned supporting roles in films and series, such as Crush Kong Curly. Hello, Love, Goodbye was also among his roles. He also headlined his own comedy film, Boy Bastos, under Vivamax.
Reminiscing His Highs and Lows In The Industry
Looking back on his journey, Wilbert Ross experienced a lot from his early years in the industry. Wilbert Ross auditioned four times for Pinoy Big Brother. He did not enter the famous Bahay ni Kuya. Additionally, he talked about participating in singing competitions such as Tawag ng Tanghalan on It’s Showtime, Pinoy Boyband Superstar, and Masked Singer Pilipinas—where he reached the semis round—marking his best finish in a competition.
He implied that it always matters because it’s still an exposure, even though he lost every competition. Many of his old pictures span from his early years to life after he entered the entertainment business. This is evident in every VTR shown between sets. It’s similar to revealing his life story to others.
A Showcase of His Versatility
Wilbert Ross opens the July 25 show with his hit “Makaluma.” He dazzles in a prince-like outfit. The setlist includes “Crush Kong Curly,” “Sa Text Na Lamang Ba Tayo,” and “Hello” by Lionel Richie, one of the songs he used to sing when joining competitions.
In addition to his original songs, he covers popular hits like “Ngiti” by Ronnie Liang, “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” by Joey Stamper, and “Palagi” by TJ Monterde, which was selected through a special segment called Wheen ni Wil. A fan was also invited on stage, and he serenades her during the entire song. It was a heartwarming moment that left the audience envious, after all, who could resist his lovely charm and presence?
Wilbert Ross showed his fierce and sexy side. He set the stage ablaze with seductive performances of Sexy Back by Justin Timberlake. He also performed Rodeo by Lah Pat and Flo Milli, igniting the atmosphere at New Frontier Theater. The audience genuinely went wild and sane by his manly physique and aura. Meanwhile, grooviness and coolness were evident on stage. He reunited with former Hashtags members Zeus and Jimboy. They performed “Galawgaw” and engaged in a cramping battle.
He also performed songs from his first EP Lampara, including “Nakangiti,” “Dramatic Actor,” “Benteng Ukit,” and “Handa Ako,” which he performed alongside Mika Salamanca, a close friend and one of the unexpected guests. Earl Agustin joined him on stage as they sang “Let it be” by The Beatles. “Dalangin,” one of Agustin’s hits, had the audience singing along.
The Golden Era
He revived the fever as he performed tracks from his hit Viva Series. Golden Scenery of Tomorrow marked his first lead role in a television series. “Maliwanag Mong Mundo,” “Sa Liwanag Ng Buwan,” and “Ginintuang Tanawin,” which allude to songs from the golden age, are part of the set. During the performance of “Avianna,” paper planes soared across the New Frontier Theater, a heartfelt fan project that transformed the venue into a touching display of love and support.
Bringing the ultimate kilig to the stage, the crowd went wild when his on-screen partner, Bea Binene, joined him, sharing sweet moments as they performed “Urong Sulong” and the theme song of their upcoming series, Love U Lots.
At the Finale, festivity filled the venue as he performed “Langga” with a grand production, wearing his barong and hat. Before the last song, “Dulo ng Pahinga,” featuring a choir performance, gives a perfect transition to “Sasabihin Ko Na,” ending the night with a victorious feel as the confetti falls across the stage.
