[The] Music of Sound Releases New Single

UK-Indian dream-pop trio [The] Music of Sound has new single releasing on August 7, 2026 titled “Shimmer.”

[The] Music of Sound has a new single titled “Shimmer” that delivers a well-needed message of unity in this increasingly divided world. The song also celebrates resilience over fear and hatred over a shimmering dream-pop texture and spacious electronic soundscapes.

It pairs Sherin’s ethereal vocals, Elena’s haunting flute and layered harmonies, and Neil’s distinctive piano style.

Vocalist Sherin said:

We wanted the song to send a clear message of hope and belief in kindness and unity over hate and division. There’s a line that says ‘Cowards victimise / but the brave always are kind’ which sums up how we feel.

“Shimmer” was recorded by the band themselves, and mastered by Trace Recordings’ Mark L. Beazley. This release is another milestone in a breakthrough year for the trio: they have surpassed 150,000 streams this year, and has a UK tour planned for November 2026.

The band began in 2024 when South Indian vocalist Sherin moved to the UK to pursue a career in music. She met Neil March at London’s ICMP music college, leading to an endorsement from Arts Council England as an ‘exceptional talent’ for a Global Talent Visa. Her appointment as the band’s lead vocalist has been pivotal in shaping the band’s distinctive sound.

They have developed a distinctive sound for themselves, blending dream pop, electronic music and cinematic songwriting. They bring together generations, cultures and musical backgrounds. Together with flautist Elena, the trio creates music that explores empathy, identity, anti-fascism and social unity.
