Alternative singer-songwriter Mitski brings her Nothing’s About to Happen to Me tour to Manila on Tuesday, July 14, at 8:00 p.m. at the Mall of Asia Arena. PULP Live World presents the long-awaited concert, giving Filipino fans their first chance to see her perform live.
Born Mitsuki Miyawaki, Mitski is a Japanese-American singer-songwriter known for her honest lyrics and unique blend of indie rock, pop, and folk. She started her music career while studying studio composition at SUNY Purchase. There, she self-released her first two albums, Lush (2012) and Retired from Sad, New Career in Business (2013).
She broke through with Bury Me at Makeout Creek (2014), which introduced a bolder, guitar-driven sound. Next came the critically acclaimed Puberty 2 (2016). She then released Be the Cowboy (2018), featuring the hit “Nobody,” which later found new success on TikTok.
However, Mitski stepped away from music in 2019 before making her comeback with Laurel Hell in 2022. The album topped the U.S. Alternative and Rock Albums charts. She followed it with The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We in 2023, featuring “My Love Mine All Mine,” her first Billboard Hot 100 hit.
Now, Mitski opens a new chapter with her eighth studio album, Nothing’s About to Happen to Me. Released on February 27, 2026, the album is led by the single “Where’s My Phone?” and offers a fresh yet deeply personal sound.
