Indie Filipino-American singer ROCCO has new things in store for this new chapter; and his newly released single “Break” is just the beginning.
To mark this new creative chapter, Indie Filipino-American singer-songwriter ROCCO releases his first single “Break” on June 26, 2026. He is known for his atmospheric bedroom pop sound and deeply relatable lyricism.
The song is a cinematic slow-burn that serves as the introduction to Rocco’s upcoming body of work. The song embodies the heartache that we all go through when in love with someone. Rocco’s beautiful voice, combined with a strong guitar melody, perfectly captures the complex and universal pain of unreciprocated love.
The 23-year-old singer-songwriter is making the rounds in the indie music scene. After taking an ambitious leap of moving to Los Angeles to chase his music career, his songs “Spin You Round” and “Baby Blue” took off. In June 2025, Rocco released his debut album “Skin & Bone,” followed by a US headline tour “The Smoking Gun Tour.” Now, in 2026, he debuts this new era in the wake of his previous successes.
The atmosphere for yearning
Inspired by the moody, widescreen sonic vibe of Coldplay and The Neighbourhood, the song “Break” was made in a collaborative session with producer Aidan Hogg and songwriter Jules Brave.
The song expands on Rocco’s usual atmospheric bedroom pop style, with a deeper thematic concept over an airy production. This release perfectly fits his evolving catalogue, as it acts as the bittersweet in-between of his other slow jams and upbeat heart stoppers – the perfect anthem for your late night yearning sessions.

A new EP coming
Rocco has been teasing fans across his platforms with short teaser films to go with his songs. The films depict Rocco as the guy best friend of a girl named Lucy, who he has been in love with and is the muse of his songs.
The three short episodes currently out now perfectly sets the stage for the songs to come, giving the album a story progression we can look forward to.
There are currently two songs out right now: the other is titled “perfect song to slow dance to.” It was released last month on May 29, 2026. This song is more romantic than “Break.”
The indie singer has always been able to seamlessly blend moody textures and alternative melodies with the intricacies of intimacy, heartbreak and emotional vulnerability. His catalogue has been full of self-produced tracks, all raw and cinematic.
