Kongdech Talked to Tanrak in Ticket to Heaven Episode 5

Ticket to Heaven episode 5 begins as the students return to the seminary after their break. Tanrak hopes to repair his friendship with Kongdech, so he wears the shirt his mother gave him as a sign of goodwill.

Later, the group gathers for lunch, including Barth. During the meal, Kongdech’s mother reminisces about how Kongdech and Tanrak always planned to become priests together. She looks to Tanrak for confirmation, but his hesitation creates an awkward moment. Kongdech quickly changes the subject while quietly noticing the growing closeness between Barth and Tanrak.

Afterward, Kongdech speaks with Tanrak privately. He casually tells him that he can make his own choices before returning Tanrak’s rosary. Tanrak realizes that Barth had borrowed it and accidentally dropped it, allowing Kongdech to find it. The discovery leaves Tanrak feeling anxious and guilty.

Meanwhile, Barth helps Master Phak with his tasks and discovers an old college application. Phak reveals that he once had the chance to pursue a sports scholarship, but he eventually chose a different path because he believed God had another plan for him.

Furthermore, Barth and Phak discuss which students will continue their religious studies. Phak admits that he is uncertain about Tanrak’s future. He points out that Barth understands Tanrak better than anyone else, hinting that Barth may know what Tanrak truly wants.

The Weight of Faith

Tanrak tries to hide his feelings by acting annoyed with Barth. When Kongdech asks about their relationship, Tanrak insists that nothing is happening between them. Kongdech does not question him further, but Tanrak immediately pulls Barth aside and panics.

Tanrak tells Barth that they need to become more careful. He worries that people will discover their relationship. Meanwhile, the two continue finding small ways to stay connected.

Later, the boys organize craft supplies in the library, and Tanrak invites Kongdech to join them. However, Tanrak and Barth secretly exchange notes while working together. Their hidden messages soon become a new way for them to express their feelings.

As time passes, Barth and Tanrak begin meeting in the music room. They leave each other romantic notes, creating private moments away from everyone else. One night, they sneak into the storage room. Both admit that hiding their relationship has become exhausting. Tanrak hopes their sacrifices will be worth it, but Barth wants more than secrecy.

While they share an intimate moment, someone passes by outside. They avoid getting caught, but Tanrak immediately panics. He refuses Barth’s attempt to comfort him and tells him to leave first. On the way back to the dormitory, Father Arnon catches Tanrak. He lets him go but reminds him of Joe’s devotion and commitment to his faith.

The conversation leaves Tanrak torn between two worlds. He remembers his dream of reuniting with his parents in heaven, but he also thinks about the happiness he finds with Barth. He realizes that becoming a priest may require him to leave Barth behind. Overwhelmed by the impossible choice, Tanrak breaks down and cries out in frustration. Afterward, Tanrak starts avoiding Barth. Kongdech quickly notices the sudden change and realizes something is wrong.

Tanrak Was Caught Between His Feelings and His Faith

Joe’s foundation welcomes children who have no place to go, and the seminary volunteers to spend a day caring for them. The children quickly grow attached to Tanrak. Curious about his future, they ask if he plans to become a priest.

Caught off guard, Tanrak says that even if he does not become a priest, he will still visit them. His answer surprises both Joe and Barth, who notice his uncertainty.

Later, Barth reflects on Tanrak’s dream of becoming a priest. He feels guilty for becoming part of the reason Tanrak is struggling. When he sees a Mother Mary statue, Barth breaks down. He remembers that his mother also prayed to Mother Mary. Overwhelmed by memories, he calls their old landline just to hear her recorded message.

Meanwhile, the students receive their report cards. Father Arnon writes positive remarks about Tanrak’s strong faith and dedication. However, Tanrak remains distracted. While helping collect assignments, he accidentally hands Kongdech his homework with the doodles he and Barth created together.

That night, Tanrak cannot ignore the conflict inside him. After everyone falls asleep, he sneaks out and destroys the evidence of his relationship with Barth. He tears apart the pages, gathers the romantic notes and flowers Barth gave him, and burns everything near the abandoned swimming pool.

On his way back, Father Arnon finds him. He does not directly accuse Tanrak but asks him to reflect on what he has done and encourages him to confess his actions. The soot covering Tanrak’s hands reveals that Arnon already knows something happened.

Later, Kongdech confronts Tanrak. He admits that he saw the doodles but chose not to tell Father Arnon because it was not his place. However, he feels hurt that Tanrak hid the truth and underestimated how much he noticed. Furthermore, Kongdech expresses his disappointment that Tanrak may no longer follow their shared dream of becoming priests. He sarcastically reminds Tanrak of the future he once wanted and the promise he made to himself.

Tanrak’s Confession to Father Arnon

Barth confronts Tanrak after noticing his sudden distance. He cannot understand why Tanrak keeps avoiding him. However, he becomes even more alarmed when Tanrak reveals that Kongdech knows about their relationship.

Tanrak begs Barth to leave him alone so he can pray and sort through his thoughts. Frustrated and hurt, Barth lashes out and curses God. His words upset Tanrak, who refuses to accept his apology and walks away. Later, Tanrak runs into Father Arnon and breaks down during confession. He admits that he feels guilty for loving Barth and wonders if God will forgive him if he chooses to end their relationship.

Father Arnon reassures Tanrak that God will not abandon him. He explains that love itself is not wrong. However, he tells Tanrak that if he truly believes his actions are sinful, he must decide how to move forward. Tanrak must choose between his feelings for Barth and the difficult path toward becoming closer to God.

Afterward, Tanrak cries alone near the Mother Mary statue. Barth finds him there, and the two finally admit that they still love each other. Despite their feelings, Tanrak remains afraid of what their future holds. In contrast, Barth refuses to let fear decide their fate. He suggests that if the seminary cannot accept them, they should leave and create a life somewhere else.

Ticket to Heaven episode 5 delivers a heartbreaking exploration of Tanrak’s internal battle as he faces the consequences of loving Barth while holding onto his faith. The episode highlights the emotional weight of secrecy, guilt, and sacrifice as both characters struggle with the possibility of losing each other. With powerful confrontations and vulnerable moments, the episode sets up a deeply personal conflict that challenges everything Tanrak believes in.
