The remastered 1985 EP Getting Through of The Question returns via Oglio Records, reviving the band’s enduring legacy for new listeners.
Oglio Entertainment continues its reissue campaign celebrating the legacy of The Question with a newly remastered edition of Getting Through. The release is now available on major streaming platforms.
Originally recorded during the summer of 1985, Getting Through marked the band’s second 7-inch EP. The remaster gives new life to a record that remains central to the group’s enduring cult reputation.

Formed in the early 1980s, The Question became one of the defining acts of the Los Angeles mod revival. The trio earned attention through energetic live performances. They also received strong college radio support, and an appearance on the influential compilation Wharf Rat Tales. However, the band never limited itself to one scene or sound.
Tony Rugolo shaped much of the group’s identity through his bass-driven songwriting and unmistakable vocal style. In addition, guitarist Phil Cusimano added a harder and more aggressive edge, both as a player and songwriter. He also wrote the EP’s title track, “Getting Through.” Meanwhile, drummer David White pushed the songs forward with powerful and restless rhythms. Together, the trio blended mod revival, power pop, and ‘60s R&B into a sound that felt distinct from their contemporaries.
The five-track EP highlights that versatility from start to finish. Songs like “Getting Through” and “On the Right Track” deliver sharp hooks and driving energy. Furthermore, the band’s version of “Daddy Rolling Stone” expands their R&B influence, while “Move Around in the Dark” and “Gone Forever” explore darker moods and textures. Although Cusimano became closely associated with his signature Rickenbacker tone, parts of the EP—including “Daddy Rolling Stone” and sections of “On the Right Track”—featured lead guitar recorded on a Stratocaster, giving the release even more sonic depth.
The reissue follows Oglio Records releases of Shall Be Love and Distance Apart. Moreover, the label plans to continue restoring and reintroducing the band’s catalog, including more than 20 tracks featuring rare and previously unreleased recordings.
Decades after its original release, Getting Through still sounds urgent and alive. Rather than serving as a nostalgic artifact, the EP stands as proof that The Question always operated beyond the limits of any single scene.
Stream The Question’s remastered 1985 EP Getting Through now via Oglio Records and rediscover a defining sound of LA mod rock.
