“Sanderiana” comes from Vanda Sanderiana, the scientific name of the Waling-waling. It’s a highly valued orchid known for being the “Queen of Philippine flowers.” The song’s regal origins fit its message just right, serving as a dedication to someone’s own special “Queen.”
According to Jenzen, he chose this concept to highlight ethereal beauties unique to our culture. He shares, “I wanted to celebrate a beauty that is both rare and domestic to our roots.”
This isn’t the first time he incorporated flowers in his work. In 2025, his single “Rosas” captured the hearts of romantic yearners with its themes of unrequited love. As of today, the track has reached over a million streams, proving its impact on listeners.
While talking about “Sanderiana,” he looked back on his previous record. “While “Rosas” opened the door, “Sanderiana” is a deeper look at someone who is truly ‘hulog ng langit’—a person so unique they are almost impossible to find,” says Jenzen.
With the guidance of producer Ivo Impresso, Jenzen dove deep into the song’s production and stepped out of his comfort zone. From learning new instruments to incorporating bold ideas, he welcomed them all with an open mind. This fresh approach ultimately led to “Sanderiana”’s more polished and modern sound.
