Cup of Joe turns every sandali into their own moment at the press conference for their upcoming fourth major concert, teasing a new EP.
Cup of Joe, one of the most talked-about bands in the Philippines, reaches another milestone with their fourth major concert, SANDALI. The concert is set to happen on May 23 at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bulacan.
The group will become the first Filipino band to perform at the venue. The concert goes beyond a typical show, as it reflects success built on hardship, passion, and dedication.
At their press conference on April 15 at Viva Café, the band teased exciting details about the event. Lead vocalist Gian encouraged fans to prepare for a water-filled experience. He warned that they should expect to get wet and enjoy splashes throughout the stadium.
In addition, he also reminded attendees to wear comfortable outfits and prepare for the water-themed festival experience that SANDALI promises.
Gian shared that the band wants their set to bring out a wild, jumping energy from the crowd. He said they realized from their previous rain shows that getting soaked actually boosts the excitement even more. For them, it adds to the fun—especially since the concert is happening in summer.
He also described SANDALI as a dream festival from the audience’s point of view. He said that they built the concept with that experience in mind. Gian also added that there will even be “Splash Zone” tickets, which he believes will offer the most enjoyable experience for fans.
Rhythm guitarist CJ Fernandez said it is their first time working on a concept like this. He shared that they are very happy during the planning stage and confident in the team behind the concert. Furthermore, he added that he trusts that everything will be well executed.
COJ Announces “Sandali” EP Ahead of Fourth Major Concert
Ahead of their fourth major concert, Cup of Joe revealed plans to release a new EP titled Sandali, which shares its name with the upcoming event.
Lead vocalist Gian Bernardino explained the title’s meaning, saying “Sandali” can refer to either a moment or wait. He said this wordplay inspired one of the EP’s tracks, which explores the tension between asking the universe to slow down due to pressure or choosing to fully embrace the present moment.
The band confirmed that they will release the Sandali EP before the concert and perform tracks from it during the show. They described the songs as perfect for the summer season.
This upcoming release marks their second EP, following Patutunguhan, which came out in 2023.
