JTBC and Netflix’s upcoming K-drama We Are All Trying Here explores the fragile line between ambition and self-doubt within the competitive world of film production. At its core, the series follows individuals entangled in envy, frustration, and the constant pressure to succeed, each quietly battling their own sense of inadequacy while searching for personal peace in an unforgiving industry.

The story centers on Hwang Dong-man, an aspiring director and the only member of the renowned film collective “The Eight” who has yet to make his official debut, struggling to preserve his self-worth as opportunities slip away. Around him are complex figures.

Koo Kyo-hwan plays Hwang Dong-man, an aspiring film director who has not yet made his official debut. He works outside the circle of successful peers in the industry he wants to enter. Go Youn-jung portrays Byun Eun-ah, a talented film producer known for her sharp script evaluations. Others see her as calm, controlled, and difficult to read.
