MOMO. introduces “Egum Eô,” a vibrant, Brazilian-inspired lead single that sets the tone for his upcoming album Tum Tum Tum.
MOMO. is a London-based Brazilian multi-instrumentalist who creates music that crosses borders. He grew up in Brazil and later lived in Angola, the US, Spain, and Portugal before settling in the UK. As a result, he shapes a sound that blends cultures and resists easy labels.
His upcoming album, Tum Tum Tum, reflects this journey. He sings in both Portuguese and English and explores themes of continuity and forward motion. Moreover, the record features collaborations with Brazilian legend Marcos Valle and Smoke City’s Nina Miranda.
He recorded Tum Tum Tum live in South London with his close-knit band. In addition, he worked with long-time collaborators, including UK jazz trombonist Rosie Turton. The album marks his eighth release. It feels warm, fluid, and expansive. Furthermore, it carries a playful energy and a sense of ease, as MOMO. appears fully at home in his creative process.
The lead track, “Egum Eô,” opens the album with a distinctly Brazilian spirit. It sets the tone with layered vocals that echo the rhythm of the title itself. Meanwhile, a bright horn hook lifts the track’s energy. The groove unfolds gradually, like a smooth, rolling wave. As the band joins in, the song builds into an immersive and joyful experience.
MOMO. explains, “Egum Eô feels like an invocation. In Candomblé, Egum refers to ancestral spirits, and the phrase appeared naturally while we were playing, following the Afro-Brazilian pulse of the drums.”
Raíssa Pardini developed the visualiser for “Egum Eô” in collaboration with Conor Lumsden. Additionally, Pardini designed the album artwork.
MOMO. will take Tum Tum Tum on the road across Europe. He begins the run in London on 03.09.2026 at 229. He then heads to Paris on 24.09.2026 to perform at POPUP!. Moreover, he continues to Germany with a stop in Schorndorf on 25.09.2026 at Club Manufaktur. In addition, he plays Berlin on 27.09.2026 at Gretchen. Finally, he wraps up the tour in Hamburg on 28.09.2026 at Nochtwache.
