Lecx Stacy stays true to his uniquely philosophical and experimental sound with his new single, “Safe In Your Hands, I Clasp.”</h2
Filipino-American artist Lecx Stacy reckons with his anxiety in his new single “Safe In Your Hands, I Clasp.” The track mirrors the anxious tension that develops alongside intimacy and love.
Stacy himself describes the track as “a soundtrack to [his] anxieties.” Gentle acoustic guitar and Stacy’s soft vocals are soon swallowed by deep staticky walls of brown noise and distortion. The song then returns to the comfort and safety of the guitar, replicating the uncertainty at the root of love.

“Safe In Your Hands, I Clasp” is part of Stacy’s upcoming album The Folkhouse, which is set for release on May 8. Filipinos may know folkhouses as KTVs or bars where men would sing rounds of classic American folk songs in the midst of drinking.
The album is set to replicate that merging of landscapes, a world created between his father’s stories and his childhood in San Diego, California. The Folkhouse will also include his past singles, “Winter, A Wilted Flower” and “With You, I’d Be Closer To God,” which combine elements of folk Americana with the Filipino ritual to produce his own signature sound.
More About Lecx
As a first generation Filipino American, Lecx Stacy’s musical upbringing included karaoke sessions, piano lessons, and beat-making with his older brother. When his brother passed, music helped him through the grieving process. He eventually began producing and selling his beats online.
Now based in Los Angeles, his music has taken on a unique spirit that carries itself onto his live performances. He has toured with artists like Eartheater, Jean Dawson, and Sega Bodega, but Stacy’s most impressive credit is his ability to turn distortion, noise, and folk into a philosophical exploration of faith, love, and desire.
