Wasia Project return with “2515,” blending orchestral roots and rave energy into a cinematic, nocturnal alt-pop track now streaming worldwide.
On April 6, sibling duo Wasia Project — Will Gao and Olivia Hardy — returned with their new single “2515.” It marks a bold new chapter in their sound. The track blends their orchestral roots with a subtle rave energy. It unfolds like a cinematic, nocturnal meditation on life in the digital age.
Produced with frequent collaborator St. Francis Hotel, “2515” takes listeners on a night-time journey that moves between introspection and dancefloor momentum. Olivia’s spectral vocals thread the track, giving way to sweeping, kinetic arrangements that echo the disorienting rhythms of modern life.

“2515” marks a new chapter in our songwriting—it’s colder and darker than anything we’ve done before. A song fuelled by anger, the sonic mirrors racing thoughts that come with the emotion. With this track, we officially start our journey through night.
In the opening refrain, “2515, been in your car,” her voice—shrouded in effects—mirrors the motorized churn of the song’s world. Lyrically, the song explores fragmented connections and strained relationships. The song reflects the chaotic, hyper-connected digital landscape that defines Gen Z and iGen experiences.
Expanding Horizons and Growing Influence
Formed in 2019, Wasia Project draws from their mixed British-Chinese heritage and classical training. Their debut EP, how can I pretend? (2022), featured the breakout hit “ur so pretty,” which earned two sync placements in Netflix’s Heartstopper, where Will Gao also starred.
Follow-up singles like “Petals on the Moon” and the transitional EP Isotope (2024) showcased a cooler, cinematic palette and were accompanied by short films. The duo’s audience has grown rapidly, amassing over 200M streams, 2.4M monthly Spotify listeners, and 20M+ YouTube views.
Their sold-out 2024 UK headline tour and US support run with two-time GRAMMY winner Laufey, along with European dates supporting Tom Odell, have solidified a loyal fanbase. Festival appearances include All Points East and Lollapalooza Germany, while leading publications like British Vogue, NPR, GQ, Rolling Stone, and The Guardian have championed their work.
With “2515,” Wasia Project continues to blur the lines between genres and emotions, crafting music that is both personal and universally resonant—a late-night soundtrack for introspection, connection, and shared understanding.
