Alt/indie rock band The Moss release their new single “Your Way” and announce a 2026 spring tour supporting their upcoming album Big Blue Moon.

The Moss unleash their new single “Your Way,” the latest preview from their forthcoming full-length album Big Blue Moon. It is set for release on April 24. The track channels the band’s signature melodic energy while exploring themes of independence and self-discovery.

Everyone has ideas about how life should be lived, but they’re just ideas,” shares frontman Tyke James. “You shouldn’t listen to everything people tell you.” With over 75 million streams, The Moss have earned acclaim from outlets like Alt Press, which named them a “Rising Artist To Watch.” It have played major festivals including Bottlerock, Levitate, Ohani, and Paradies alongside Briston Maroney.

Tyke’s nomadic lifestyle infuses The Moss’ music with a unique perspective. From living in a van in Santa Cruz to surfing in France, working on a horse ranch in Montana, and paragliding in Utah. His experiences feed the band’s eclectic sound. “Moss grows on every continent,” Tyke explains, reflecting on the band’s name, “ubiquitous, unnoticed, but everywhere—just like our music.

Since their breakthrough with the Insomnia EP, which garnered over 25 million streams and landed on Spotify’s U.S. Viral 50, The Moss have built a loyal fanbase drawn to their blend of surf-rock, ‘60s melodies, reggae rhythms, and emo-infused alt-rock.

Nature, Nostalgia, and Live Connection

The Moss’ music draws heavily from their surroundings. Tyke grew up in Arizona, honed his skills on a Montana horse ranch, and discovered surfing in O’ahu at 13. These formative experiences shaped both the sound and the spirit of the band. “The environment inspires everything we do,” Tyke says. “Being in nature—surfing, hiking, meditating—lets you tap into the energy that makes music feel alive.” Songs like “Your Way” capture this balance, combining surf-rock melodies, emotive indie textures, and introspective lyricism rooted in personal experience.

Looking ahead, The Moss will embark on a spring 2026 headline tour. It includes a standout performance at Kilby Block Party alongside Lorde, The XX, and Modest Mouse.

There’s something special in seeing immediate reactions to a song. Whether on stage or during songwriting, that feedback makes it feel personal with our fans.

With Big Blue Moon on the horizon, The Moss continue to craft music that’s both reflective and irresistibly anthemic, inviting listeners to embrace life on their own terms.

Anything that you put your creative energy into, it can turn into an art form. And the better you get at it, the better you can express yourself through it. Sound is at the basis of all matter.  That’s pretty epic.
